Are you saying that the billions of individuals suffering from these global problems should ignore the problems they are suffering from and concentrate on the suffering of all the others? This would mean that those suffering from hunger should forget their own hunger and agonize over the hunger of others. ?????

You make a totally valid point. Since I was addressing the members of this sub-forum, all of whom appear not to fit that category, the "anyone" was implicitly restricted to them. I should have made that explicit. Thank you providing the opportunity to clarify my intent.
