For those of who that breastfed, how long did you breastfeed your child for?

I breastfeed my daughter for six months, my son had issues with breastfeeding and I gave up after two weeks.

I usually breastfeed about a year. Though I did stop at 8 months with my youngest son because I had to go on some medication. We usually go straight from breastmilk to solid food, so I wean or let them wean when they are fully on solids.

I did 2 months with my first and went to straight to formula with my second

My oldest I nursed for 9 months. My new baby was unable to nurse, so I pumped for him for 3 months.

Less than one month, but that was because everything went horribly wrong. This time I hope to make it past one year... maybe 18 months.... or until I get pregnant again, because I hear it hurts to breastfeed while pregnant and I'm not sure I'm down with that

Not necessarily, but it can be very tiring. If you get pregnant while nursing my advice would be to try it and see how it goes.

I breastfed my first daughter for almost 9 monts until she totally lost interest. The twins...nursing did not go well and I only made it to 6 weeks mostly pumping. This baby...al least one year is my plan...unless something comes up.

#1 & #2 I formula fed.
#3 was in the NICU & I pumped for her, but only for 3 wks (too stressed, and no support).
#4: I nursed 22 months
#5: 9 months
#6: 9 months
#7: 22 months
#8: 24.5 months
#9: 3.5 yrs.

I plan to let my son decide when to stop. I hope we make it to two or three years.

I did for 2 months until I ran out of milk. I just dried up for some reason.

I breastfed my older two for a year each, with this one I'm still breastfeeding - I'll probably go on for a year min - of course she might have different ideas who knows.

Leanna I was still breastfeeding Becky when I was pregnant with Patrick - it didnt hurt at all - I encouraged her to wean when I was around 8 months pregnant because I didn't want to breastfeed two kids at once and I didn't want her to get jealous seeing me breastfeed a baby and her not getting any.

3.5 year each. I remember thinking how I'd be happy to make it 1 yr with my first. My kids take to the breast like fish to water and I make milk like bessie so things just clicked.

My average has been about 22 months...nearly always I have stopped because I was pregnant and it HURT!!!

My oldest I nursed until he was about 30 months, and my youngest I weaned at 18 months, becuase I was going on retreat for a week...but it turned out that I was pregnant, too---so I'd have weaned her real soon anyway!

i picked the -9 months option but i am still feeding and i plan on doing it till matthew doesnt want it any more but tbh he loves it and so do i he really doesnt take much food at all mostly milk with one small food feed a day.

with my es i was on medication so was not allowed to feed him which 4 years later i am still gutted about

i love breastfeeding lol
