  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

i had the opposite with luke...i bled for 7 straight weeks postpartum...then i got my first period when he was 4 mos old..but i breastfed till he was 15 mos old..but i didnt get pregnant during that time either. Just recently the Ped told me that just because you get your period back DOESNT necessarily mean your fertile again yet. He said if your still breastfeeding theres a good chance you wont be fertile again for many months after the period comes back....i was surprised to hear that.

For those of you who breastfed for a while and then quit for whatever reason, when did you get your period back? I breastfed for 3 1/2 weeks and I still don't have a period and Maya is now 4 months old

I really don't remember........ but I breastfed mine for 6 months and was still lactating for a year later..... I could still squeeze stuff out occassionally before I got pregnant with this one and my daughter was 2. It'd been a year and half since I had last breast fed...

Actually, now that I think about it... I think it might've returned a month after I finished all my post partum bleeding... I think it was regular.... but don't know for sure.

Hmm, yeah. What IS IT that makes women fertile? Cuz obviously, in my case (and others for sure), you don't have to be having a menstral flow to be fertile enough to get preggers!!

No, don't feel abnormal!!!!!!!!!! It is sooooooo different for each woman!

I breastfed for 8 1/2 months, (introduced solids at 5mths) then stopped to TTC, but I didn't get AF back until ruth was almost 11mths old. And then when I got it it came back slowly, with long cycles (i.e. 6-8wks.)
A friend of mine got hers back 28 days to the day after delivering while breastfeeding, perfectly regular again...

If you are worried then perhaps look into a blood test to check your hormone levels, but don't stress too much!!!
