Hello my fellow CF friends. As everyone is not in every thread and follows I wanted to wish everyone well while I take a break from CF from February 17th till Easter. I'm also taking a break from social media during that time.

May everyone stay well and healthy until then I have two recommendations for books on fasting. One gives you many different types of fast and it's by Elmer Towns. I started with this book back in 2006. Health complications later led me to the Daniel fast. The best devotional I have found is by Nanette Elkins. I'm attaching pictures. Blessings all!

I studied a no salt added low fat vegan diet recommended by Dr. Joel Fuhrman. While on the diet I lost weight, lowered my blood pressure, and was healed of kidney stones. Since then I added two servings of seafood per week. Green leafy vegetables are healthy. I bought organic when I could.

Vegans may worry about B-12 intake.

Glad that you found some benefits to a low fat vegan diet plan. That's interesting and I hope this diet kickstarted a lifestyle change for you? I've never done a diet in my life or counted calories. My way of eating did change in 2009 though with the help of a naturopathic doctor. She had me clear out all the dead foods and so began the journey to more whole plant based foods. I also eliminated soda and have never had one since.

During the Daniel Fast I have to be careful to not make food the focus of the fast. Over the years the Daniel fast has become a lil easier as I've gotten to know recipes and give me more time over to God. Its easy to get caught up in the recipes rather than the prayers and time in the word that is so needed. Cutting out most of the distractions helps, one of the reasons I will have no media except for work and Sunday worship & study by zoom, the first 7 days.

Wishing you all the best during your fast, sampa! I will pray for you that God will reveal himself to you as you seek Him.
Thank you!!! I too, hopefully some good breakthroughs in myself, others and maybe our nation.

I walked 1.75 miles yesterday. I am 61. There is a direct correlation between BMI and longevity, once those made thin by cancer are excluded from the study data.

A vegan cardiac surgeon from Loma Linda, CA was assisting in surgeries in his 90’s. He was able to drive at the age of 100. He lived to be 104.

A Japanese doctor and head of a Presbyterian hospital wrote being thin improves your health. He was a self described longevity expert. He lived to be 105. It is important to find a useful function in life, not merely extend one’s life.

It was good to see you posting here again, Sampa. Best wishes for your time away from CF and other social media. Sometimes, that can be really beneficial. I hope you find the peace and clarity that you're looking for.

Also, I wish you luck in your pursuit of a lasting relationship. As somebody who isn't actively looking, it can inspiring to hear from folks who are still out there and genuinely trying to make it happen. Even 5-10 years ago, dating seemed more congenial than it is today, but there are still good folks out there.

Enjoy your break :)

Hopefully I'll still be around to welcome you back. But in case I won't, you can have this orange: :tangerine:
@Agnos thank you for the orange. I love the scent. Hopefully I will see you around here again.

@dqhall some interesting information. It's good that you keep yourself active and it sounds like you want to live a quality long life. Myself as well I want to be running at 7 years old. Recently I've had teeth problems, so I hope to be addressing those because I want my choppers at 90.

@Miles it's always good to hear from you. Also encourages me to come back here since you were part of when things were definitely an active community. It wasn't without drama though at the same time, but that's how relationships are they are messy. I can say the same if I ever find a long-term relationship, it won't be problem free. But with Christ anything is possible and an area I've never been able to grow in, has a high possibility with that other teammate. Also I think that relationships are relationships only when we sacrifice and think of the other rather than just ourselves. I fall short so many times in my everyday relationships with this. I pray if the time ever comes for you seeking a relationship that the Lord might bless you and help grow both of you. Until that time I hope this community here will be a good sounding board.
