  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey Guys,
So i have 11 days till my due date and the last couple of days i've had heaps of braxton hicks contractions. sometimes they seem to get so intense and then they just completely die off.

This morning in church that were so strong i was getting worried i may go into labor in the middle of the service :D LOL

So my question is for those of you who have already had a bubs.

How long did you have braxton hicks contractions before the real thing?

Often lots of prodormal labor means baby is not in an optimal position for birth. Check out www.spinningbabies.com for recommendations on how to help baby into a great position.

I strongly feel that my diligence in trying to do this the last weeks of my pregnancy and during my labor was the cause of a great labor this go around. (As well as the RRL tea :) )

You are probably not having BH contractions at this point- but rather early labor. The difference is a little complicated- but if the ctx are in a regular pattern and become progressively stronger they aren't BH contractions.

Well with all my babies I had lots and lots of BH contractions from about 7 months on. All my babies ended up being overdue, like two weeks overdue. lol
Talk to your OB about it and they'll tell you what to expect.
If they start to get more intense, you get pressure down there, or start to bleed...then there's a very good chance it is starting.
Just because they aren't regular doesn't always mean you aren't really in labor. With my dd3 my contractions were very mild like BH and were very irregular. It wasn't until I started bleeding that I knew it was on.

Hi Kaz

Haven't heard from you in a few days! Hopefully this means you're in labour or you've already had your little one.

Looking forward to the news
Hey Gem, well i thought bubs was going to come yesterday!

i started to have really strong contractions and my girlfriends told me if i started to feel them more in my groin area then they weren't braxton hicks.

But then all of a sudden they just stopped!!!

and they didnt come back so i was like what the???

so no baby as yet :0( I'm really starting to get over it so hopefully bub pops out soon LOL

To answer your other question i'm 23 but if i ever get asked i always say 21 as i'm refusing to age! LOL

it's a little joke between my friends and I for some reason after i turned 16 i sort of just forgot that my birthday kept coming around so whenever anyone would ask me i would always say i was 16!

Then when i turned 21 i got stuck on this number! so for the last couple of years whenever anyone asks i've been saying i'm 21 which at first was like the whole 16 thing i would just simply forget but now i just say it for fun! LOL

and yeah this is my first bubs, hence why all the questions :0)

I'm on my second pregnancy and I'm finding I'm not remembering things as well as I expected I would. But I'm also having a bad case of pregnancy amnesia. I expect I'll have lots of questions later on, as well as referring to the journal I kept during my first pregnancy :D

It definitely sounds like your body's getting ready for the big event! It's so hard to be patient at this stage of the pregnancy. I remember that so well.

Re. age, I often have to subtract my birth year from the current year to figure out. Except recently, it seems there's a lot of "how old are you?" going around CF in various forms of questions. :) I finally remembered I'm 26 without hesitation. :D

I've done nothing but sleep the last few days, I also hired a whole bunch of dvd's so i've been chilling out watching dvd's and sleeping.

My hubby has been cooking too which is awesome because he never cooks!

I'm going to get a massage and have a facial this week.

That's great. I'm so glad you're resting up and getting pampered :)

I'm feeling icky today - queasy, exhausted and generally bleh. It's normal. I think I'm off 2-minute noodles, at least until the 2nd trimester. The thought of them makes me sick, which is a real shame. I liked those!

no more contractions i'm feeling over it i'm just really praying it's not much longer.
Well, hang in there. Have been thinking of you. It won't be much longer. If it is, they'll evict the little one. They threatened to with mine, and even scheduled an induction, but she came on her own a couple of days earlier (still ten days late, harrumph)!

Sounds like early early labor to me. It's really normal for your body to start doing the "pre" labor stuff 2 or 3 weeks early (especially in a mom who's already had a baby before).

I read somewhere that we all have Braxton-Hicks ALL the time... it's just that we typically don't feel them until we're pregnant (or on our periods). I thought that was interesting... Especially since BH are toning and strenthening the uterus, it makes sense they'd be happening all our lives.

I 2nd the suggestion of checking out www.spinningbabies.com GREAT site  , and it will Seriously shorten labor if the baby is in a good position.
