A brainless, faceless, and spineless primitive fish has been found off the coast of Scotland. This is a very primitive form of fish closely related to the ancient ancestors of all vertebrate animals, including modern land animals and modern fish. The creature is so primitive that it doesn't even have fully developed fins to swim. Instead of a brain or spine, it has a large nerve cord down it's back that acts as an archaic form of brain and spine.
Scientists are mapping it's DNA in order to understand how vertebrate animals first evolved. This fish is remarkable since it promises to unlock the mysteries surrounding the evolution of our ancestors from primitive life without backbones to more advanced animal life with fully developed skeletons and backbones.
Creationists, be very afraid. Science may soon be able to better understand and explain many of the unanswered questions surrounding the evolution of our ancestor species from simple invertebrates to complex vertebrates thanks to this ancient faceless, brainless and spineless fish.
But I wouldn't worry too much yet if you are a Creationist. I'm sure the Kent Hovinds of this world will shortly come up with a way to twist this discovery by using Bible passages, and cherry picked scientific data taken completely out of context.
