As I noted in the other post regarding ear piercing, my oldest son (now 17) has had his pierced. It was his choice and he had to be responsible enough to take care of it - or it would have been taken out.

I have 2 younger sons (one is 10 and the other will be 13 in a few weeks) - neither of them want an earring and that is fine by me.

It's a personal choice for them and if that's the biggest thing I have to worry about - is them wanting an earring, then I will have done well.

I don't personally see the harm in it - even if they decide they want one someday, but then at 25 or 35 yrs. decide they don't like it - they can always take it out and never wear one again.
