Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So I've noted there's a bunch of people putting up married icons in Singles. I thought it was funny and all... but then I saw that people are trying to get former singles "grandfathered in" again. IJWTS I don't want to come back to Singles, just FYI. I did post there the other day in the welcome/goodbye thread but that was because I thought that thread was an exception to the rule (since I had posted in it before without consequence). I know there are a few other married people who do want to be able to post in the SF (or already do post in there regardless of the rules). Really, I don't understand why, if people miss interacting with their married friends on CF, they don't just post general topic threads here or in another general forum instead of in SF. That's why there are married people wanting to post there still (I think).

I think just because we were like a family, and now they took our relatives away and basically told us we have to go to another state to see them.
Also, it's quite repetitive for us to try to be active in both forums. I have to post every thread twice and then try to keep up with both of them also. I can only speak for myself, of course.

Well I can see your point about the threads. It is annoying because no one seems to check over here or reply to threads. Same with young adults and many of the other life stages forums.

We're moving. We should have our closing date on the house we're in now in a week or so and I hope to be moved by no later than the end of October.
