which kind do you use? we just use regular A&D or we have this spray stuff too

A&d is good, but greasey. I like Butt Paste (yes that's the name) It's a thick cream that works super well and smells nice. I find it at babies r us and walmart.

I really like desitin, but have heard the butt paste is good too.

I like Desitin regular, I didn't like the creamy... it wouldn't last the whole night. We always used to put it on David so when he stayed in the same diaper all night it would protect him from diaper rash. He hasn't had one yet *knocks on wood*

Dr. Smith's. You don't need a prescription for it, but you have to ask the pharmacist for it.

BUTT PASTE!!!! Through my 3 kids, I have tried EVERY KIND of diaper cream out there, and I do have to say that BUTT PASTE wins out. It is thick enough to protect, doesn't burn on a rash (desitin and balmex do), heals the rash (A&D protects but doesn't really heal). So I have to vote for Butt Paste.

I used Desitin Creamy with Andie, just because it was easy to wipe off....my SIL uses the Butt Paste with her daughter and swears by it!

We do have generic run-of-the-mill local store brand zinc-oxide cream here that my aunt sent us but we've never used it. we dont use any, no cream, no powder, no nothing, and never had a single rash of any kind.

We started using it overnight only at the point he started sleeping 10 hours straight in one diaper. I assume since your daughter only sleeps 4 hr stretches she gets changed often also. That makes a difference. Maybe we would have been okay without prevention who knows, but its a thought. But now we haven't been using it for 5 months overnight and he hasn't gotten anything either... I think next time with a newborn we will do it the same way, put it on when baby starts sleeping through the night. I'd rather prevent than heal any day.

I use balmex...If she does get a little red it clears right up...I haven't used anything else..cause we got like three tubes at our baby showers.

My favorite was A&D Creamy. I also find it works MIRACLES for razor burn or shaving rashes in those "sensitive areas"...lol, for me, not the babies.
