Could you tell me more about this? I would like to allow others to feed the next child God blesses me with. Like Neenie's daughter, my son just didn't like the bottle at all.

My mother used glass bottles with me and I have definite memories of them and even breaking one while playing with my siblings and being told that I wasn't allowed to use the glass bottles anymore and I was very upset by it....lol This is actually one of my earlier memories!

I had no issues with the glass but then again, both kiddo's were off the bottle by one year old. I liked the feel of glass, it 'felt' sanitized/clean and preferred it over the plastic.

I'm going to bookmark that site. Thanks. I'm most likely going the glass bottle route for my next one. Did you also bf your children? I ask because I know that some bottle manufactures claim to be "breast friendly" and I wonder if that's true, would a bf baby be able transfer from breast to glass bottle with ease.

I used the glass bottle with my OS and he BF for 2 months and took a bottle during the two months. He had no confusion.

I used Avent and Playtex.
The avent bottles always leaked. I didn't like them.
The plastic playtex bottles with the liners worked well for us. I used the same ones for all three boys.
Just bought new nipples and bags.

Baby should go from breast to bottle back and forth as long as you wait four weeks. I'm breastfeeding exclusively, but daddy likes to feed her too, so I express with an electric pump everyday so he gets to do a feeding... sometimes the night one hehe. I've had a huge amount of success so far expressing... I can get 5-6 ounces in about 8-10 minutes. But I just think about baby and I let down lol.
As far as being able to switch back and forth, just try to find a nipple that is most like yours. That's what I did and DD has no problem at all.

My DH recommends Playtex Nursers which is what my nephew used 10 years ago as a newborn. He said having the bag, you can push out most of the air and for a man taking care of a kid who wasn't even his one less thing to wash. LOL.

Babies don't always go from breast to bottle as easily as others. My son never took a bottle no matter what kind we tried. A friend of mine has been pumping exclusively for 8-9 months because her son wouldn't take the breast back. I however have been told the Playtex ones are the most mom like and the easiest for the baby to understand and go back and forth - normally.

I tried a bottle (with expressed milk) twice - the first time ds took about 0.25oz and then cried like his heart was breaking and refused to try again.

The next time, as soon as I put it in his mouth he gagged and threw up.

That was the end of our bottle testing sessions...for us, bf'ing was much easier.

The best way to get baby to take a M bottle is to have someone else do it. You should leave the room. If baby can smell or see you he/she will probably not take it because they know their preferred "container" is around. I just find it very convenient for baby to be able to take a bottle so daddy can feed her if I have to go somewhere... plus I'm returning to work in three months and DH is taking over, so I didn't have much choice.
