  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm just sitting here marvelling at the progress my current bottle babies are making and was wondering if anyone else here had ever or is currently bottle feeding any little critters?

I bottle fed 2 pit bull puppies this summer for my local humane society. They were part of a litter of ten and their mother had been so severely abused that she had to be euthanized; there was no way to save her.

About a month ago I bottle fed a little grey kitten. He was 3 weeks old when a nice couple found him under their van one early Saturday morning. He's now about 8 weeks and living with them for good. :)

Currently I'm bottle feeding 3 kittens that are about 4 weeks old now. I've had them since they were 2 weeks old. They have most of their front teeth and their molars are starting to erupt now. I'm hoping to get them completely off the formula in 2 weeks so they can go back to their owners.

Anyone else love bottle babies?

-Ashley :)

We fostered 4 border collie mix puppies that we got at 3 days old a couple of months ago. We had to bottle feed them. I couldn't believe how hard it was. I have 3 children, they were much more cooperative ;) They turned out great though, and it was very rewarding for me and a great thing for my kids to be involved in. It taught them quite a bit about patience and responsibility.

i've bottle fed a few kittens. One is crazy and lives with my cousins, a few others were fed along with their momma's milk. It was her first litter and she had quite a few kittens and the poor little runt wasn't doing to well. the last one is still at my house. A friend of mine found her and gave her to me in the middle of July and i think she's going to stay at my house.
Have fun with your babies, it's always a relief when you can wean them off of formula and onto reg. food. you can finally get a good nights sleep.

I'm certified to handfeed baby birds. I've fed quakers, tiels, conures, pionus, and amazons. I was always the one at work who would volunteer to hand feed. I loved getting the babies out and watching them eat. It's so funny b/c when they are full, they are done! We had this tiel who when he was done would try to get away as fast as he could. Like he was saying "I don't want ANY more!" lol. He had a lot of spunk for a tiel.
