  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I don't know if these are out yet.. (I get books from authors and publishers before they're out on the shelves so I can write reviews for them) But Betrayed by Jeanette Windle is awesome... and if you like those little romances (gag me) Sweet Caroline by Rachel Hauck is pretty great... even I got into it lol... surprise ending...
One book that I know has been out for a while is Germ by Ropert Liparulo... it's probably my favorite book lol... Lots of action... and just the though of somebody being able to do what this book suggests... scares the living daylight out of me. lol

HARRY POTTER!

Woah sorry a nerd just got a hold of my keyboard for a minute there! Erm.....
You know I've heard a lot of people, all Christians, say that Harry Potter is demonic... and filled with witchcraft and whatnot. So I never read them. Besides, I thought they were for kids.

Then I read an article about J K Rowling, and she professes to be a Christian herself.

Excerpt from Wikipedia:

Rowling is a member of the Church of Scotland. She once said, "I believe in God, not magic."[95] Early on she felt that if readers knew of her Christian beliefs, they would be able to "guess what is coming in the books."[96] Rowling has stated that she struggles with her own beliefs. In an interview with the Today Show in July 2007, she said, "...until we reached Book Seven, views of what happens after death and so on...would give away a lot of what was coming. So … yes, my belief and my struggling with religious belief and so on I think is quite apparent in this book."[97]

I think most people put a negative connotation to Harry Potter because they can't get around the fantasy aspect. But even JRR Tolkien and C.S. Lewis used the fantasy genre to convey their Christian beliefs. So I am kind of torn. I think I may read the Harry Potter series now.

I read all of them - they were great. My church in Colorado Springs even did a Potter Project VBS one year - the NYT came out and did a story on it.
