I know how pathetic eh? I think because the pregnancy focuses on a lot of bad things that could happen so it can make some mamas feel paranoid. The what to expect the first year is .... well it could be replaced by a lot of better books. Its just so dry.... I think the pregnancy one is a lot better than the baby ones though. Your Pregnancy Week By Week I liked better because of the pictures of the baby.
I haven't read any of the Dr. Sears baby or pregnancy books although I have browsed them at the bookstore, but I imagine they are good just because I really like his book The Healthiest Kid In The Neighborhood. I really recommend that book!Although like jgonz we don't parent entirely the way Dr. Sears talks about....
Einstein Never Used Flashcards is an interesting book, I remember it starts out talking about all of the fancy contraptions and "learning tools" available for babies and then talks about the best things you can do for your little ones. I liked it, its not exactly a "parenting" book though... but I am interested in education.
