By far and away I highly... HIGHLY reccomend a three part set by Avi ben Mordechai, Messiah volumes 1-3. However, volume 3 deals with very mature and deep aspects of Jewish thought, so I would point one who is looking for a great intro to volumes 1-2.

Check it out at: www.m7000.com

peace,
Yafet.

Well, I found a few on Amazon.com, and the Messiah series does look really good.  Here's what I'm looking at(I'd post links, but I need another 9 posts before I'm allowed that option):

Yeshua: a guide to the real Jesus and the Original Church - by Ron Moseley

The Complete Jewish Bible

Messianic Jewish Manifesto - David H. Stern

Restoring the Jewishness of the Gospel:  a Message for Christians -  David H. Stern

Our Father Abraham:  Jewish Roots of the Christian Faith - Marvin R. Wilson

The God of Israel and Christian Theology - R. Kendall Soulen

If there's another book you'd add, or if there's something on my list you'd subtract, I'd definitely appreciate the input!

Thanks to everyone who's already made suggestions!

I have R Kendall Soulen's book, and it's not just dry, but doesn't exactly give too much insight into Jewish theology... it's more of defining where christian doctrine came from, in his view.

A couple other really really good ones to add to the list would be:
Paul the Jewish Theologian
and
Jesus the Jewish Theologian

Both excellent starters and will put you light years ahead in understanding the Jewish background to the NT.

Still, I'd have to reccomend Messiah volumes 1-2 above everything.

Shalom,
Yafet.

Yes P4I David Stern is good all around for those interested in learning a more in depth look at the Bible from a Jewish perspective. I too would recomend those.

Another book you might be interested in is written by a gentile, but with the "supervision" of notable Messianics such as Dan Juster, David Chernoff, Eitan Shishkoff and many others. It is called "

"Your People shall be My People" and is written by Don Finto. I got a copy at my local bookstore, for $10.99. It is a paperback and easy read, and talks about the estrangement of the church and its foundation, and founders. In the line of Ruth, the only book named after a Gentile in the whole Bible, it shows how we should be a one church, and that we should learn of our true foundations.

I recommend it highly. :)

I honestly don't remember where, it is from an ancient Messianic symbol found in Jerusalem only in the past 20 years. I have several copies on my hardrive and have added variations to them. My first one was a necklace which I wear practically non-stop!
