John saw a book, sealed with 7 seals, in the Father's right hand. Over time, he saw Jesus ascended into the throne room and take the book and then begin breaking seals.

This poses a problem: most people simply don't understand the purpose of the seals are to prevent anyone unauthorized from opening the book and starting the sequence of events that will eventually cause Satan to lose his place as the prince of this world. At that time the kingdoms are taken from him and given to Jesus Christ.

WHEN is the book opened, and WHAT is inside the book?

The book is opened in chapter 8, as soon as the 7th and final seal is opened to start the 70th week. What is inside? It is what we read in chapter 8 after the book has been opened. First we see 7 angels receiving the 7 trumpets. From this point on in Revelation what we read is what is INSIDE the book.

Points to notice: the book CANNOT be opened until all seven seals are opened. This simply fact makes it impossible that any event - after the 7 seals receive their trumpets - happen sometime in some seal, and some people imagine. In other words, NO trumpet can be sounded back in some seal. No vial can be poured out in some seal.

This fact also makes it simply impossible that "the tribulation" can happen in the seals. Why? "The tribulation" is what is written inside the book! How in the world can any event written inside the book happen before the book is opened to reveal that event? It is impossible.

Many theories therefore that we read about in these threads are simply impossible. Yet people cling to them a if it was their last breath!

Who called to John - "come up hither" in Revelation 4:1, before John saw the book?

the great tribulation ends in this chapter (7)
/the time such as never was

The truth is, Jesus Himself said, the days of GT will begin at the midpoint. The midpoint is in chapter 11, so it is absolutely impossible that the GT ENDs in chapter 7! It has not even started yet in chapter 7!

The book has already been opened. We know what is inside. The seals are not triggers, like the trumpets and vials.

This fact also makes it simply impossible that "the tribulation" can happen in the seals. Why? "The tribulation" is what is written inside the book! How in the world can any event written inside the book happen before the book is opened to reveal that event? It is impossible.
The great tribulation and the 70th week are not synonymous. The great tribulation is within the 70th week. The 70th week begins when the rider on the white horse is crowned the King of Israel, the Jews thinking he is the messiah, and he confirms the Mt. Sinai covenant for the 7 years as required by Moses of all future leaders of Israel.

One could guess it was Jesus Christ - the head of the church. John does not tell us.
Then Jesus was already in heaven. John does not see Jesus ascending from earth to the throne room.

Did it ever occur to you that Jesus came forth out of the glory surrounding the throne to appear to them? That he was there all the time.

The seals book is a summary of the Book of Revelation.

What does the text say?

Rev 6:1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
Rev 6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
Rev 6:3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.

The 7th seal, Yahweh get's ready to leave His holy Habitation:

Revelation 8:
1 When He opened the seventh seal,
there was silence
/sigh<4602> in heaven for about half an hour.
2 and I saw the seven Messengers Who before God have stood,
and there were given to them seven trumpets,

Habakkuk 2:20
“But YAHWEH is in Holy temple.
Let all the earth keep silence<2013> before HIM.”

Zephaniah 1:7
Be silent
<2013> in the presence of 'Adonay YAHWEH;
For the day of YAHWEH is at hand,
For YAHWEH has prepared a sacrifice; HE has invited HIS guests.

Zechariah 2:13
Be silent!<2013>, all flesh, before YAHWEH,
for He is roused from HIS holy habitation!”

Paul uses it his big speech defending himself:

Acts 21:40
And when he had given him license, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people.
And when there was made a great silence/sighV<4602>, he spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying,

The seal is not closed to THE LORD who chooses to reveal what HE chooses to reveal.

Remember...John was told not to write what was given him (but it was given to him)

And Daniel was told to go his way that the things revealed to him were for the time of the end
