Has anyone gotten into the bonsai thing? I got a small tree from Sam's Club, and since then I've been interested in pursuing this as a hobby, but don't know where to start.

One thing I know for sure is that the glued-or-whatever pebbles surrounding my tree can't be helping it.

Interesting hobby that I never got around to getting into, but if I did, I'd probably take a look at you tube for all you need to know about it.

They seem to have and all you need to know about most things, probably the reason I don't have time to bonsai.

I thought maybe we have a thread on that?

I have exactly one little bonsai tree. It's still alive, and I've had it for about 3 years, so that's something. It needs work though, and I'm no expert.

I don't even know why they glue the rocks on them. I water mine pretty carefully and lightly.

Sometimes even rather small plants need a lot of work.
The very tiny gardens need the most work in my experience. Small mistakes are multiplied in tiny landscapes.

That doesn't keep me from trying though.

The effort is sort of disproportionate to the dimensions...
Lol true.

Well in the sense of attention to precision, watchfulness, frequency, etc.

It still takes a lot more muscle to maintain a larger landscape. Which I need to somehow muster ... spring is getting started and I've got some overgrown beds to clear and a few shrubs and perennials that need planting or moving.
