right, so rather than having a great big neon sign floating in the sky that says GOD RXISTS on it, God gives evidence by creating the laws of physics in such a way that planets form at certain distances from the sun.

'k.

People would just say their god or goddesses were the ones responsible. It would be too easy to abuse. Instead, we find a message in the very fabric of the universe.

and that would be bode's rule. so rather than your god giving a decent signal, he gives us bode's rule, a mathematical curiosity which could well have some other natural explanation anyway. why don't you try telling us about the ratios of planetary days to their orbital periods and demonstrating how that proves God?

I think it is obvious, our Universe is laid out in such a way to prove something to us.

Then why the innacuracies in the formula? Why don't we see them at exactly the positions predicted? Surely that would be a trivial job for god?

That's not the only instance. Another example is the distances and circumferences of the Sun and moon, which can align and form an eclipse.

So, you demand 0 deviation and 100% odds? Funny, because evolutionists don't.

that's because evoution doesn't lead to perfection. God has higher standards, after all the universe was "very good". My art teacher would complain if my lines were wobbly.

Wobbles serve a purpose, they provide us with summer and winter.

No, I don't. But as an atheist I don't see how this innacurate, though vaguely interesting 'rule' proves anything about the existance of god. If god were attempting to prove something then why wouldn't it be perfect? Assuming he has the amount of power he is claimed to have in the bible, that is.

What is the value, for god, in a flawed 'proof' in the position of the planets? It won't convince anyone that god did it unless they already believed that were the case. Those positions could be due to the laws of physics, (which I suspect is the case) or they could be entirely due to chance. Without a valid comparison all we have is a statistical oddity. (And a poor one at that)
