"It Ain't Me Babe" and "Seven Curse" are my favourite Dylans songs at the moment.

Has anyone listened to the "Listen To Bob Dylan: A Tribute" album? I'm a bit of a fan it. It has some great interpretations but some just try to hard to sound like Bob and it's makes you question "Why even attempt to do a cover?"

Jason Mraz with "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall" is obviously a Bob Dylan song but performed with Mraz characteristics.

I like Dylans earlier work than latter. I had a friend see him live recently and said he was pretty average. He said that Dylan faced away from the audience and barely aknowledged them at the end of the performance.

Oh well, he still was impressive in his younger days.

Cheers

I'm a pretty big fan. Don't have a fav. song (simply too many good ones to choose from). I have short term favs - a particular one that gets played to death, then it's replaced. Recent short term favs have been Tangled up in Blue, It's alright Ma, I'm only Bleeding & Stuck inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues again.

Those who like / are interested in Bob and haven't read "Chronicles", do yourself a favour, it's brilliant. I also really liked the "I'm not There" movie (soundtrack is fantastic too).

At http://www.bobdylan.com/songs/guthrie.html you'll find the words to a poem he wrote ("Last thoughts on Woody Guthrie"). It's a bit rare so if you aren't familiar with it, check it out, it's amazing! If you google it, you can find a recording of Bob reciting it which, for some reason, makes it so much better (it's also included on the "Bootleg Series".

Last year I went to an open day at my daughter's school (she was in grade 1/ 6yrs old) to look at some work the kids had been doing, which was displayed around the classroom. One section was called, "My Favourite Things". Each child had answered a list of questions eg. favourite food, game etc. In answer to "favourite music", my daughter's answer was not that all that different from the other girls (Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, Fergie etc) with the exception of her last answer on the list, BOB DYLAN. Brought a tear to my eye and warmed my heart it did!

oh yes, Bob Dylan is, was, and will forever be amazing. unbelievable songwriter and a great singer(anything he may have lacked there he more than made up for in lyrics)

favorite songs of mine include, "it's all over now, baby blue", "blowin' in the wind", "don't think twice, it's alright", "mr. tambourine man"

i think i like his older stuff more, like 60's and 70's but "Love and Theft" was a great album too.
