Board Games

One of my favorite board games is Blurt. I love games were you are loud. Franticly shouting out answers. It always comes with laughter too. Any kinda charades
game too.

Personally, I like Scrabble, because I have a rather large vocabulary. Unfortunately, I've been spoiled with my family's deluxe edition, with raised borders on each space so the pieces don't slide everywhere...also a turntable.

I also really like Monopoly.

Apples to Apples is awesome, though it does tend to turn players into horrible people... Because the Helen Keller card always wins.

I also really like Monopoly.

I have that same board for Scrabble. But it has become a game of my youth since I have no one that enjoys it like I do.

Same with Monopoly. Haven't played in years. However I do play Monopoly Jr. with my son.

My wife and I play a lot of board games. Scrabble, Backgammon, Carcassonne and Talisman are the ones we play the most, although lately we've been playing the old-school Dungeon! game from TSR...

You've got nearly all of my favourites, and some I want.

Love Settlers, Ticket to Ride, Carcasonne, Power Grid.

Want Peurto Rico, Tikal

Also have and love double 12's dominos - so worth getting to play chicken foot and mexican trains.

Word games - the best I have is one called Quick Word, but also love some scrabble variations. Plus I like Absolute Balderdash.

I've got risk - but we haven't played it much since we got into Settlers of Catan and the like.

The current top-rated game is Puerto Rico, in comparison Settlers is #26. Risk is all the way at #3044. Monopoly is #3655.

War of the Ring is real nice once you get the rules down, especially if you like the theme.

I've just picked up Descent: Journeys in the Dark yesterday and both expansions. Got a good deal at a gaming store. The game is very complex and takes quite a long time to play, so you need some pretty hardcore gamers to be able to play it. Very interesting concepts though.

We hae been enjoying PowerGrid lately, and the expansion we got for Ticket to Ride - 1910.

True, the reason I went with Descent is because it's similar to an old school dungeon crawl without being as advanced as D&D. I really wanted to take a break from that for a while and play something a little less involved. Plus, it adds a very interesting concept of control when it comes to the DM. In Descent, it's very interesting because the DM is actually suppose to try his best to kill everyone; so it's more of a PvP game than a standard dungeon crawl. However, the DM has limitations as well so he just can't spawn anything and kill everyone. It's quite a cool idea.

Plus, everyone is stoked about the next expansion. The DM is actually going to be getting an avatar of his own. Sounds like good fun!
