They do Bluegrass, but a lot of Gospel too.
Their latest CD, *Into the Fire*, is a "must have".

Ya want some good 'grass gospel.
Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, IIIrd Tyme Out, The Isaac's, Kenny and Amanda Smith, and just about any 'grass band out there. Every album has a few gospel tracks on it. And it's good stuff. Also recommend Adam Steffey.

this is one musical genre that you'd be hard pressed to find an aetheist in. I'd say most all of bluegrass has Christian elements to it. I'm just getting into bluegrass due largely in part to Alison Krauss, so I don't have any suggestions other than her.

Good way of putting it! When I was growing up my dad had a good collection of bluegrass - Country Gentlemen, Bill Monroe, Jimmy Martin, Stanley Bros, Louvin Bros, Jim and Jesse, etc...and used to play in a bluegrass band as a young man in the air force. So he got the Christian element even though he was 'far from God' at the time...Jesus saved him almost 10 yrs ago, turns out about 8 mos before I was saved!

Those are great albums, but they're not Gospel albums.

Actually any well-rounded bluegrass band will play gospel of some kind. Alison Krauss does some amazing covers. Bluegrass holds it's roots in the Bible belt, so it's hard to not sing some gospel in bluegrass. I play both Christian music and bluegrass (I play the upright bass) and we do gospel songs. Here in West Virginia almost every bluegrass band I've ever heard threw some gospel in there.

Check out Alison Krauss's "Jesus, Help Me to Stand". That song is so beautiful.

Just to give a little testimony to the power of bluegrass to impart Biblical truth, one day my youngest son was about five, he heard an adult say something about leprosy and he said "Naman had leprosy!"

I asked him "What else to you know about Naman" and he said "I know that Elijah told him to go swim in the river of Jordan".

I was pretty shocked because he was only seven years old and I know he hadn't read II Kings with us so I asked him how he knew that.

He said "Because you sing that song". Immediately, I recognized it as "River of Jordan" that I sing with some friends in a bluegrass Gospel band called Six in the Fire.

We talked about different songs and what he knew and I was shocked at how much he could put together just based on the bluegrass Gospel songs he'd heard and from the hymns we sing at home.
