Blown Off Course

Hello.
I am sorry to have landed in the middle of your forum. I was returning in my Tiger Moth aircraft from an archaeological site on the side of Mount Erebus in Antarctica when I ran into a blizzard, got blown off course and had to make an emergency landing here. I have tried to contact the other members of my own forum by radio, but the batteries have now gone dead.

The members of my forum are heartbroken at my disappearance, and have mounted a search party to try and find me. They fear that I have frozen to death in the wastes of Antarctica.

Let me introduce myself. I am one of the Supreme Council of Grand Woofters of The First Apostolic Church of Oneness and Agreeability. You can read an account of our doctrines and beliefs in my Blog. Because debates were getting personal and nasty on my forum I was commissioned by the Supreme Council to spread the word of Oneness (unity not Modalism) and Agreeability. This was having a very positive effect on our forum, and was raising the morale of forum members.

So, I will be on your forum just on a temporary basis until I find my way home.

I think the only way is to step into the next forum and then work your way up....until we are home again....but shouldn't we wait until the others get here first? Or we could start the journey and the others could catch up?

Because if they think we are insane then when we show that we are only partially insane with some sensible posts - they will see it as a positive move....and if we are lucky there might be some mad sorts here too! What a wonderful surprise! I am rescued by a search party of lovely women, just oozing with Agapability and Attractiveality. With the cavalry hats, it just feels like when my long lost great great uncle was rescued from an attack by the Flamabilitical Hostiles on the plains of Montana by a detachment of the U.S. Cavalry in 1857.

He was a Missionary to the settlers of the General Christian Debate forum on the usenet, who were suffering immensely from continued attacks by these Hostiles who were constantly setting fire to their sincere posts with Argumentation, PersonalAttackilation, and general Inflammatation. His mission was to spread the Good Word of Acceptability and Agreeability to these poor beleagered souls.

He was doing a great work when his wagon train was attacked. He and his party tried to defend themselves with the usual counter-measures of Sincereablity, Loveablity, and Patienceability, but were being overwhelmed by the strong weapons of Nastillitation and Bullyactivation. Then along came the U.S. Cavalry and drove these Hostiles away.

It is too bad that this wonderful episode did not make the pages of The Great Fred.

Also, in recognition of the Ultimate Supportability of Quaffer in helping with the search party and her encouragement to cross the great Dividium to different forums, I will seek approval from the Supreme Council to rename our governing body to The Supreme Council of Grand Quaffters. It has a very agreeable ring to it, don't you think?

I have been in contact with the Supreme Council and they have approved of the Name change.


Now, Kebisoni, you seemed to be the leader of this effective search party, and I do not wish to take that away from you. Therefore, you are therefore appointed Commander of this little expedition to lead us back to civilisation, although this is quite a positive place to have landed in.

Unless you have access to an aircraft to fly us directly back to our own forum, we may have to travel overland. My Tiger Moth, I'm afraid, is a write off. So lead on MacDuff or it is MacKebisoni!

Now....pushed the boat out a bit (English phrase meaning spent a lot of blessings) and bought this rather cool space shuttle to get us home!

I had thought of leading us home on foot - through the various threads and leaving the sign of agreeability wherever we went, which would be rather super.....but having looked at the threads just before this one - including things like In Memorial and Prayers - which are all for important issues - I felt the aggreable thing to do would be to leave them alone - unless we went there sensibly and seriously....

So it is a quick space ride!

But that does mean you will be home all the sooner - which is all the more agreeable! You have been sorely missed...

Of course we could use the shuttle to make an outing to another forum at some point in the future....perhaps the Grand Quaffters would ponder the wisdom of such a trip and advise us.

To be appointed Commander by SDM is the highest honour of my life so far....and it is an honour to serve you.

The news of Quaffer's honour is wonderful - and has supreme agreeability about it. Congraltulations!

Now all that is left to do is to clear up...make sure we haven't left anything behind.....and say good bye to the lovely people in Positive News - it is great to see people who are looking for the good in the world rather than just complaining about the bad.

Herman is a fully qualified Shuttle pilot, and is about to depart to the NASA space program to begin his training as an astronaut to take part in the first shuttle flight to the Moon. He will be gone as soon as we return to our forum. I will arrange a farewell message for him when we get back.
