Blood Pressure

My blood pressure is continuing to skyrocket. The last time it was taken it was 163/123. Both numbers are more than 40 points higher than they should be. Please pray that the LORD would lower these to normal levels. Thanks everyone.

Tim -- I'm praying for you also. As Charity asked -- do you take any meds? Have you seen a doctor about it? If it is caused by stress (on the job, or from wherever), remember Philippians 4:13 --

My daughter's doctor gave me samples of Toprol, but they've run out & his office doesn't have anymore. I can't afford treatment at the moment - I have to come up with @$11,000 by mid-November or be held in contempt of court.

Be sure to eat a banana a day and take some Niacin as well. Both help to reduce blood pressure. No caffiene. I'm sure you know all of this already, I just really feel for you and wish I could help. I'll definitely keep you constantly in my prayers and I'll ask my church to pray for you as well.

Thanks again everyone. I took it tonight at walmart...178/110 the first time, the 4th time it was down to 154/105.

RJ, I'll try the banana deal--the caffeine is another story! I've been a soda addict all my life, though to be honest I don't drink as much as I used to. Not because of my health, but because I can't afford 'em! Mixed blessing I guess!?!?

I've started eating the bananas and today I got a bottle of garlic tablets. I have to wait a few days to see how this effects my BP. I tried to get a prescription for the generic form of what I was given samples of, but the dr won't give one until I make an appointment; which I can't do cause I can't pay for it. So...

Hi Tim,

Exercise, moderately and consistently helps. Orange juice is also loaded with potassium like the bananas. I take an occaisonal potassium pill at night when I've had too much salt and my ankles feel tight, don't take more than one though. As contrary as it sounds drinking water flushes out the excess. Do you limit your salt intake? I so hope you will find a way to see the doctor. I'll be praying, I do believe JESUS will heal, believe and receive from HIM.
