  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Since I was a child, blood moons have filled me with fear. I did not understand Jesus' words in the sermon on the mount, did not find the phrase "the end is not yet." I thought the blood moons would signify the end of the world. I also did not realize that they are recurring. Now that they are here, now, I am filled with wonder and excitement, watching the news in awe as Christ's words are being fulfilled before my very eyes!

The blood moons always come on Jewish feast days, and they always have significance for the Jewish people. Does the Spanish Inquisition ring any bells? That process took place during a blood moon season! So I am watching and waiting for the next big event in God's book.

I approached this blood moon with nervousness and was vastly relieved to find that it would be in the early morning when I was still sleeping. When I awoke, though, I was surprised to find that it was still red. That glow through the curtains of my room sent me racing back to bed, burying my face in my pillows and blankets in tears from the fear coursing through me. I listened for any sound of comfort yet heard only the howling of the dog down the street. All else was silent. I prayed and prayed for a half hour for God to take it away, to turn the moon back to white. I chanted over and over "The Lord does not give us a spirit of fear, but of strength and a sound mind." I arose, peeked out the window, saw the normal light, and breathed normally again, then spent some time in devotions and checked the news. Have you guys seen the news lately? The blood moon prophecy is for real! Friends, Jesus is doing something big in the world!

Tuesday night, the same night as the blood moon, a video was released of a meeting of al Qaeda members making threats to "the cross and those who carry the cross." This is nothing really new, but it was a huge meeting in Syria and has caused concerns about another terrorist threat. I do not believe the release date for this video is any coincidence. I also saw that Russia invaded Ukraine and there was a skirmish in which shots were exchanged.

Passover night, the Russian government put into effect a law that all Jews in Ukraine must register or face deportation and the seizure off all their possessions and assets. The same night as the blood moon! What does this mean???

Sorry this is such a late response. I don't come here too often these days.

The whole "Four Blood Moon" concept was developed by John Hagee, which he expounds on in his book by the same title. It is actually an inaccurate representation of the lunar eclipses that happen periodically. (They're not so connected to the Jewish feast days as he suggests, for instance). As well, the prophesy in Joel that he uses was speaking of the cross, not of some future vague eclipse. So I wouldn't worry about or read too much into these events, but instead enjoy them simply as the Lord's wonderful creation.

Here's a helpful review from a resource I trust:
Four Blood Moons | Challies Dot Com

I hope that is helpful to you. :)

I've been wanting to see an actual blood moon too, but I live in Washington state and I'm told that they aren't that viewable around here.

Sometimes they're viewable in one part of the world, and other times another part. I'm in BC. It looks like the ones in October should be viewable in our part of the world. (If it's not cloudy! lol)

I don't know that the blood moons always mean something special to the Jewish people... The Tetrad (4 blood moons) on Jewish holidays is not that common. Something like maybe 8 times in 2000 yrs? Those are the ones that signal something.

Nothing to be afraid of anyway - God's in control. While terrible things might happen (most likely will) it's no surprise to Christians. It's in the Bible.

I don't think Hagee was the first to write about the blood moons - maybe it was Biltz? I might have the name wrong... but he got info from NASA about it.

I wouldn't write either of them off as misinfo unless I'd read the books and done a whole lot of research on it for myself.
