  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Bliss up there..

What happens when someone goes to heaven? I mean, what is there to do for 'forever'?

Heaven is a city and a new world. It will be robust and full of life Revelation 21:10-26. There's no temple there so those who think we're just going to sing in God's choir have a very limited knowledge of God. There are suggestions of business and prosperity in that the kings bring their glory into it. There's a river with trees that yield fruit that may suggest relaxation like a holiday at the beach, but since its one long continuous day, how do you book your holidays?

What is there to do forever? One can hardly imagine but we can give it a try. Hey, God's been at it a long time and I've never heard him complaining about being bored.

In Gen 1 God tells man to "be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it". I don't think that charge has been removed, though it has been altered. Since God gave us creative minds after His, I think we will have plenty of wonderful creative things to do, in an atmosphere of perfect love and with none of the negativity we have down here. The entire universe will be our playground.

The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together; and a little child shall lead them.
The cow and the bear shall graze; their young shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
The nursing child shall play over the hole of the cobra, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder's den.
They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.
In that day the root of Jesse, who shall stand as a signal for the peoples—of him shall the nations inquire, and his resting place shall be glorious. -Isa 11:6-10

As Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 2:9:
But as it is written:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him."

And in Ephesians 3:19-21:
"to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen"

So heaven is more then we can think, imagine, hope for, or ask. So we need to just trust in Him that it will be as He Says and trust in the salvation of Jesus so we get there.

Most important thing about heaven is that we'll be able to see Jesus and the Father face to face. Right now our relationship is based on faith, we pray to someone we cannot see.

In heaven we can freely talk to God and he'll answer us immediately. No more doubts, no more waiting, no more uncertainty. We'll be able to speak with angels, ancient beings that never fell into sin. We can talk to the saints, to Moses, Jeremiah, Daniel, Paul and John... We'll be able to meet loved ones who now are dead.

The splendors of the Universe will be accessible to us. We would be able to travel freely and we won't be limited to a single planet anymore.

We'll be able to reach every goal and every ambition that we have, but we'll never reach a point where we can say that we've seen it all. There'll constantly be new challenges, new things to learn, new beings to meet. Here on Earth we are limited in so many ways, but in heaven all these limitations will be removed. We won't ever be bored.
