Okay, so I sub at the high school and today I worked in the library. There were two kids, a boy and a girl who would not stop bickering with each other. The boy is an athiest and the girl is a Christian (not sure which denom, but not Lutheran and not Catholic for sure).
Toward the end of the hour, she kept commenting about God and some things that she would say, I would correct her trying not to get too involved in the conversation. Anyway, she had one of those GOSPEL card thingies and she made a photocopy of it and taped it all up nicely so it would hold up and not fall apart. She handed it to the boy and I thought for sure that since she had been so annoying about God and pushing him on the Christianity talk that he would fling it back in her face. He didn't. He put it on the table in front of us and then at the end of the hour, without saying a word or making a scene, picked it up and put it in his back pack.
It blew me away.
I really really thought that the girl was just too pushy and he was disgusted by God because of that. I mean, I personally can't stand the in your face type of Christians and I AM a Christian!
So. Wow. I was wrong. Maybe sometimes that type of approach can get a foot in the door afterall?
