CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Just wanted to pass something interesting along those lines.
First, my great-nephew, Dylan Michael, was named for my late mother (Dorothy) and my sister's nephew, who died in a car accident about five years ago (Matthew).
My sister (a non-believer) called me Friday. It was the day of Dylan's bris and naming/dedication ceremony. She asked for the Hebrew name of Dorothy. I'm usually the one the family turns to for such info, as it's one of my many language-related interests. Anyway, I knew Dorothy meant "Gift of G-d, but not the Hebrew. When I did look it up, I found it was "Nataniella"---"G-d's Gift", a feminine form of Nathan. And checking out Matthew, I was surprised to learn that its Hebrew form, "Mattityahu" and also means "G-d's Gift"!
I see this not only as a double blessing poured out on this child, but also a portent that G-d has something very special in mind for him! WOW!
