• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

It *could* be a miscarriage, but without a positive pregnancy test, it's hard to know. Tender breasts, nausea, cramping and bloating can also be a result of PMS. ANY late period is going to be heavier and more crampy. You could have just ovulated a 3 days late too. Were you under stress around mid-cycle?

My best suggestion is to spend 8 dollars and go get a home pregnancy test. If it comes out negative, you're fine. If it's positive, open your yellow pages and look for a crisis pregancy center. They can probably put you in touch with a free women's clinic.

Since you are only a few days late, even if you are having a miscarriage, it is likely a chemical pregnancy (meaning the egg fertilized and implanted but did not develop.) Many, many women have chemical pregnancies and never even know they are pregnant. They end with a menstrual period and usually require no special medical treatment.

I would read this information page http://www.pregnancyloss.info/not_sure_if_pregnant_and_or_miscarrying.htm

thank you for that...I bled for two days...that is it...thats not really normal for me and the thing is I dont get the "pms" symptoms...EVER...just the cramps...and I dont think I can even call them that because they are so mild...so thats what gives me the idea of pregnancy...just because this is not "normal" for me. but thank you for the advice...I do plan on going to get a test the next chance that I get.

I am still not sure what was going on or what the bleeding was if it was my time of the month...regardless it was late and it was really short...I plan on going to see the doc probably tomorrow to get some tests done...I did take another pregnancy test but that said negative...so hopefully whatever it is its not as bad health wise as I think it is. Please pray for me that its nothing too serious...thanks.

I experienced that and bled right up through week 12. It was bright red blood, with clots, and at times almost as heavy as a period. The OB wasn't sure why I bled like that, but told me the best thing I could do was relax and not stress over it. She said she too bled all the way through the first trimester and delivered a healthy, full term baby. I quit bleeding after week 12 and went on to have a healthy baby myself. While her bleeding and cramping is scary, it doesn't necessarily mean there's anything wrong. Think positive thoughts! :)
