blaming God

Job did not blame the Sabians, the Chaldeans, the fire or the wind.
Job did not blame Satan.
Job tore his robe, fell to the ground and worshiped God.
Much worship is not given in attempts to not "blame" God.

Job was an amazing man of God. His story is the ultimate example of submission to the will of God, even when times are rough. I think most of us, myself included, would really struggle with not blaming God to some extent, or maybe I should say, struggle with God's will for our lives. I think most of us, myself included, would be inclined to do as Job's wife did, though we like to think and hope otherwise. I hope and pray to never have to go through what Job did, I couldn't handle it, and know I am not blameless like Job. I can't speak for everyone though, but I do know human nature. It is easy to put the blame on God, after all, we believe Him to be interested in human affairs, and we believe He is sovereign, able to intervene in situations, with the desire to bless His people.

I don't know if you've noticed, but from the story of Job, it is obvious many in Pentecostal/Charismatic circles give satan too much credit concerning his power over the children of God, because satan had to ask God for permission, and could do no more to Job than God would allow. Anyway, just speaking my mind.

Worshiping God by acknowledging His sovereignty in all things gives glory to God and peace to man.

Job is an example that God never puts man through anything that He doesn't prepare him for. God gives grace when grace is needed. Job worshipped God in Christ because God gave him grace to do it. Job knew, by the grace of God, that all things are of God. Rom. 11:36 Job was a sinful man just like we are and his righteousness was an imputed righteousness just like ours. Job, Abraham, Moses, David were all men just like you and I. The experiences of their lives were intended by God to be example to us of the grace of God in Christ.

Only insofar as being God's will. Actually God allowed secondary causes (like satan), but interestingly, even those terrible things Job suffered, were part of God's will for his life, for reasons known to God.

I wish I could say I did, but it would be a lie, I fail to give God glory in all things every day. Lord have mercy amen.

I think there is a difference between "blaming" God, and acknowledging His sovereignty in all things. Bitterness, anger, resentment, etc. are associated with "blame", which Job did not succumb to, despite all that happened to him. If Peter could deny Christ three times, I'm sure I could just as easily curse God if everything I hold dear around me were destroyed, even though these early blessings are temporary, even if we're really just borrowing from God, since the earth and all that's in it are His.

Now Peter is a man I can indentify with. Impetuous, headstrong and full of himself. A man who easily pulled a swsord ready to die in one moment and fearful enough to deny that he even knew Christ a few hours later. A man humbled to bitter weeping by a look from the Savior and bold in the Spirit to point the finger of shame at those who crucified the Lord of glory another time. A man ready to give up and go back to his nets one moment and ready to face the wrath of man for the Gospel of Christ another. Unsteady, unfaithful and unworthy but by the grace of God a man who was mighty in the word and faith.

I can't identify so much with his mightyness but with his weakness.
