  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

There are alot of pages about blacksmithing but they really don't provide much information. Your best bet is the phone book. Look for welding shops and blacksmiths. talking to them in person is the way to get started. I'm also looking into blacksmithing as a hobby

Whoa. I have been looking for the past few hours on how to learn more about blacksmithing, sword forging and welding. I came here to look at the thread on sword forging and found this blacksmithing one.

So I guess that it's just a few people who really know nothing about it and who want to learn? WE NEED HELP!

Well, I dont do much blacksmithing cause I live in a very residential area, and the firedepartment wouldn't be happy with a 1500 degree forge. BUT, I do make a lot of medieval armor. Yes, armor. Started about 1 1/2 years ago. The most heating I do is propane torch annealing. But it's a similar hobby. Try these websites:

http://www.anvilfire.com/ I don't know much about what i offers, but it's a start

The following two are armoring sites. I'm most active in the arador one.
