Birthday

My 40 year old brother died on October 22 of this year. His birthday is tomorrow, December 13. The funeral home that had his funeral is having a memorial tree lighting ceremony tomorrow evening. The pastor who did the funeral will say some things, and we will be given dove ornaments to put on the tree.

It is so hard this time of year to deal with the loss. I am still numb at times, and I miss my brother so terribly. I comfort myself knowing that he is with the Lord, but I am angry at God for not letting us have him here longer.

He was my baby brother and I loved him so much. He was always there for me, especially when I went through my divorce six years ago.

I just needed to share tonight.

A day when we will never lose our loved ones ever again. We won't suffer physical or mental stresses or illnesses. A day that will last eternally.

Jesus said.. "God is not the God of the dead.. but of the living." (Mk 12:27, Luke 20:38) Our loved ones who have temporarily left this earthly realm.. are more alive than we are.

I'm sorry for your loss and the fact I'm a day late in replying.
It sounds like your brother was a good man. I share in your grief.
I lost my mother this past June.
I can only agree with what you said;
Thank God He's in heaven.
I was angry too about my mom's passing. It's never easy.
I pray for Gods' comfort and peace in your life.
