• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm so sorry to hear your diagnosis, however I am glad they caught it in time. It's better to get help for it, than to be treated for the wrong diagnosis. If you need to pm me, feel free. My ears are open if you need to talk. I'll keep you in my prayers. God Bless!

I was just diagnosed a while ago. It is hard to take the news. But I found it was kind of like a relief in a way because I finally made sense. I started taking Epival and it has done wonders for me. Plus I can breastfeed and take it at the same time. So I was happy about that.

I will certainly say a prayer for you. I know it is tough trying to find the right med combination.

heatherq17 Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. My sister has it as well. It is difficult at times for her to. Glad you found out what it is and that it can be treated. If you need someone to chat with feel free to PM me. Sister is 25 and has known about hers for about 5 yrs. now. She takes Zoloft for hers all though not regularly she needs to. Not sure why she doesn't maybe her meds need changing. However God is there to help you and Your not alone.

God bless and Welcome to CF. I just joined myself a few days ago still learning my way around here. Have a Merry Christmas.

A couple of years ago I too was diganosed with bi-polar. After months of taking various pills to help the symptons I turned to Jesus. A year later my conditions got way better and I got off the meds. I will pray for your recovery.

While I never doubt the power of the LORD, but the Bible states: "Give heed to the physician" I'm also bi-polar and I believe that it is a chem. unballance. I went thru various meds and it took time to find what works with me. (and it really works ) Recent history has shown that folks that don't stick to the program long enough to get things right or stop taking their meds always get in trouble. It is also unfair to the folks around us because we love to fly when we are manic but time to see Dr. when depressed.
