• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together.   • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

To all that may suffer the disorder and are having a hard time understanding the why and the when.

Sleep pattern have a great deal to do with Bipolar and trigger points to help recognize and control the up and down cycles.

1. Going bed late at night and waking up without an alarm - You are in the manic cycle. Be careful because you will tend to feel invincible and this can lead to many indiscretions in your life that can take months to repair. Before making big life changing decisions, consult someone close to you because what you think is OK, sounds a bit far fetched for the folks with a standard thought process. Focus on the risk and reward.

2. If you can't get out of bed and take naps during the day longer than 20 minutes and feel very fatigued, you are in a low spot. you can become very tired trying to manipulate this stage. One thing is to recognize it and let your loved ones know what is going on. One thing here that can help is picking small and I mean small projects to complete. When you complete small tasks the body releases dopamine and boosts your feelings.

Remember to thank the lord for the ability to seek assistance and pray that he heals your temple.
