bipolar men

Hi-I don't in any way want to offend the nice ladies on thie site, but my wife starts to freak out if I respond to lots of women, which this area seems to have in abundance. So, i was wondering if there are some men out there who would like to help me carry on a thread where I can ask questions (I'm recently diagnosed) pray, etc. without my wife cracking me upside the head with a cast-iron skillet!!! Or feeling too anxious-she has anxiety. Thanks-TX2

I'm diagnosed as schizo-effective, suffer from deep depressions and have had four major psychosis in the last 10 years. I have been completely down and out but am getting back on my feet again in more recent times.
As you can see I'm male and happily married so your wife can rest assured. I might not be able to always answer/write in reply to your questions but I will do my best to share as much as I can. I have lived with Bi-polar and Schizophrenia for years and understand the need to talk and pray with others about it.

I will be will to speak with your wife if she would like, but, You really need people to talk to about this. It is so useful to think that people have the same thoughts ( crazy thoughts ) that you have. You should find out all you can female or not!

We are all here for both you and your wife. We would welcome her to join us, just like we are welcoming you. We have many who love those who have this illness and who come to us for questions, and we answer their questions as well. I myself have experienced this issue as a daughter, a nurse, a mother and one with the illness herself. God's blessings to you and to your wife and your marriage.

Ted you thought that this forum was almost exclusive run by woman but look quite a few men responded. I do hope you visit this side of the CF once in a while as it is good to talk to each other.

Thanks-sorry I haven't been here in a while. I'm freaking out lately. OCD acting up. Can't stop swallowing and fidgeting my fingers in the afternoon after my meds subside a little-and after work when I don't have anything to concentrate on. I feel like a stranger to myself.

Don't worry too much about some of these effects you are suffering from. It is quite normal to have these sensations for some time. From 1-3 months after starting on anti-psychotic and some mood stabilizers. I had it also for quite a long time even the feeling that I had lost myself and God completely. Yet it all restored itself over time so I advise you to hang in.

I have been bipolar since 96.I am also married, happly at that. I like alot of other people here will try to answer some of your questions. I have been simi stable for a couple of years now. By the Grace of God!

There is one thing nice about CF. Every post you make is put in memory and can be reviewed by the wife at any time.


I would be happy to help with anything GOD gave me.


I will say there are some very GOOD lady folks here and there is no foolishness
that goes on here. Sometimes they might have an important insight we may not have.


Just get to know how to use CF and check out the posts memory so that you will have it available anytime wife has any questions. We do and rightly so need to make them feel comfortable.


I am on meds for bipolar 1 and have been stable for about 4 years now. I find that meds only work at a certain level of stress. If you exceed that level your bipolar can start to expose it's ugly self.

im a manic depressive guy...I`m 17 and will be 18 next week! I`m Japher!!!! but yeah bipolar sucks and I went through a manic episode..a month ago..I become suicidal....I felt up...down....sad...depressed..then suicidal in one day....but this week I have been shifty in my moods....I`m hapy...normal...then sad....then sad....but it stopped....

If you can't get to a doctor or mental health dept. call the police or sheriff's dept and tell them your feeling suicidal.



They are supposed to put you in a special holding room and call in the doctors and maybe then send you to a mental health care unit.


I've been in both and it was the very best thing that could of happened at the time!!!

well....the only thing I have a problem with is self injury...I feel like cutting and using drills on my hand...due to....my sexual problems....
