• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey u all I just wanted to shed some light on this Bi-polar thing.I was diagnosed with bipolar when I was 13 yrs old.I had a period of time where I was really sick.I liked to hurt myself and I wanted to just die.I had during this time a huge amount of hospitalizations. It was terrible 4 me at that time but looking back on this I now realize how much being hospitalized helped me.I learned so much about my illness and I had lots of therapy (which I needed badly)and I also met others like me I could talk 2.Now after all that I am very successful.I am a college student now and I have my own apt. now.I've been out of the hospital for 3 yrs. this august.I'm engaged to be married and all it took was a lil therapy, some medication, and some knowledge about my illness,oh and cooperation from me with my treatment.I am well now and you can be 2.Mental illness is not the end of the world if u want better for yourself. It takes some work to find out what treatment plan it right 4 u but once u find it u 2 can be well.I now have a life as normal as any other person and I plan to remain well with medication.I hope I could help some of u who don't know that mental illness can be treated and that u 2 can be well!! Good luck 2 u all in your recovery!!

My story of recovery is also incredible. A life without downs as deep as the china sea, without ups the hight of the heaven's above, but best of all a life without voices. Without 'Satan's' hated voice to intimidate me nor his henchmen. A life where things are not constantly distorted before my very eyes.
A life without the racing thoughts and the bullet train speech. A life without raging. A life that doesn't constantly change mood. A life without confusion. A life without the will to die.

Praise God, He gave me a life without constant suffering. All those still ill take good courage it took more than five years to get me stable. So please don't give up your hope.
