Satan and his unholy angels wield much greater power when one is not in a state of grace, especially with all of the Sacraments available in the Catholic Church. If you need it (and you should go anyway) the first is Confession.

Is it wise to be saying prayers like these as a layperson? I don't know but it is running a little close to the core and I don't know if there is a danger involved if one is not entirely spritually fit for example. Shouldn't it be left to a priest?
