Big Question Help Needed Baptism

First off, Last Sunday at my Church I went up front for a small ceremony about baptism and voted in as member of the Church I attend, This sunday I am getting baptised. Me and my Children have only been attending Chruch for 50+ days, my oldest daughter 14 got mad cause I wouldnt let her go up to tell the preacher during ceremony about her wanting to get baptised.
1. I dont know where that age of accountability falls at?
2. She does understand Jesus on her level and said she accepted him as her savior.
3. She is still going to live her life the way she is, nothings going to change?

The Preacher spoke to her and said its up to her, we cant really stop her and nor should we try to discourage it - I have prayed about this because if she does do it now, and not really saved how will she feel later when she is really saved.
I cant judge her, im only going by what I see.....
No, I am not perfect but I am trying to turn away from any sin I have.
I asked her to give up some of these things slowly and she will not.
PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS? I NEED SOME IDEAS TO LOOK AT..

Don't worry! There's no age restrictions, even 2 year olds get baptized.

If she get's baptized now, when she is really saved later on, she'll feel even better. She's eager to learn about Christ, as I can tell.

If you don't want her to baptized yet, tell her. Then teach her everyday about God, what she needs to know, and what she needs to do before getting baptized. I'm sure she'll ask Jesus to forgive her, get baptized, and be a better Christian than me!

God is smiling on her, my friend. That's why she's so eager to be baptized. And if you teach her about God just for one night and tell her that you'll do it every night (and you will), then she'll hop in your lap every night! God is smling on this young child. No need to worry. God has it under control.

Why, when she grows into a mature Christian, she may be one of the best there is, with no doubts and full of love.

Its really a glad thing to know that you have taken the decision to get Water-Baptised. And its again a glad thing to know that your Children have accepted Lord Jesus Christ in their hearts and are enthusiastic to get Water-Baptised too.

If your 14-yr old daughter has accepted Lord Jesus Christ in her heart, then, she is already saved by faith and grace. And if she is insisting to get water-baptised, she can go ahead. You can give her the consent after a thorough Pre-Water-Baptism Counselling (either from you or your Church Pastor).

No Christian has lived a 100% perfectly sinless life after accepting Lord Jesus Christ in his/her heart and also even after taking water-baptism. Honestly for most of us, the Christian life has been an undulated graph and not an exponential graph.

But, Pre-Water-Baptism Counselling is a very good thing bcoz the person ought to know how he/she has to conduct his/her life after water-baptism. Water-Baptism is taken after a serious inward commitment that one is dead to the world and lives only for Christ from henceforth.

Water-Baptism in itself does not make us Holy. Water-Baptism is an outward show kind of a thing. We show symbolically (to our fellow-believers and church in the sight of God) that we are dead to the world (and all its sinful attractions) and henceforth live for Christ alone (i.e concentrating on our spiritual life more).

The Holy Spirit of God makes us more and more holy through the Word of God. I also urge you to go on seeking and praying to be Baptised in the Holy Spirit too. Coz it is the Holy Spirit Baptism which makes us really Holy from the inside!

A few essential things for a good foundation in Christian life :-

1) Being Born-Again in Spirit (through sincere Repentance, Confession and asking of Forgiveness of Sins and Accepting Lord Jesus Christ in our hearts).
2) Water-Baptism
3) Holy Spirit Baptism
4) Regular Fellowship with the Lord in quiet time (which includes Worshipping, Prayer and Bible-reading)
5) Fellowship with Born-again believers (both in your Church and outside of your Church)

Water-Baptism is to be obeyed as a New Testament Commandment after a good understanding of what it is meant to be.

One can enter heaven and be with the Lord even if he/she has not been able to take water-baptism due to any good reason.

God knows that we are all weak and He gives us time to grow in Him.

We do keep changing even after we take water-baptism. So, as your 14-yr old daughter grows in Christ, she will change her behaviour, attitude and her total life and you will be thanking God for what He is doing in your life and your Children's lives. There is no use to put excessive pressure on her to live a perfect life. But, she needs to be clearly informed about all this before she goes ahead. And as her Mom and her close Spiritual Gaurdian, you can gently remind her now and then how she ought to live as a Daughter of God having accepted Christ in her heart and having taken water-baptism.

Pls be assured that God's abundant grace and blessings will be on you and your family members for the decisions you and your children have taken for the Lord.

Praise the Lord for your obedience to the Lord! I would encourage you to let your daughter get baptized. It sounds to me that she knows what she is doing. Wouldn't it be a joyous occasion to see a mother and daughter both get baptized? It will draw you two together and strengthen your relationship.

Sounds like a baptist church? First off, there is no set age of accountability, God's gift is available for anyone young and the old alike, black, white, and even purple i.e.:

Matt. 28:19 Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:38-39 Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children.

Again:

Luke 18:15-17 People were also bringing babies to Jesus to have Him touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked him. But Jesus called the children to Him and said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child, will never enter it."

Even babies are able to have faith, i.e.:
Matt. 18:6 If anyone causes one of these little one who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.


If she wants to be baptized, by no means should anyone prevent her from doing so. The only measure I suggest you and your pastor make is to explain in detail(even if she's heard it all) exactly what it means, what's happening, what will happen from here on out and forever and ever. Once she clearly understands this, why wait? Theres no legitimate reason.
