Hello Mordechai,

I am also to the belief that the New Testament was warped.
You can find my slight opinion on the matter in the study of mark thread.
And mind you, I am not one who believes in the validity of Jesus being the Messiah, but I am inclined to believe that he was in fact a Rabbi of Traditional class.

bye

Trimm used to post here? I think I used to have a copy of the scriptures which he did.
Is he a nutjob?
I won't go into the specifics, but he did post here for about a week or so. :)

My honest opinion of Trimm is that he has a couple of thought-provoking articles, but I don't think I'd look to him to fill any sort of leadership roles. ;)

I have a couple copies of those manuscripts as well. They are taken and translated from the Aramaic.

As far as "nut job"... He's a bit out there, but when he came to our forums he was under great attack before even arriving. So, yeah... there was a bit of a 'clashing'.

*shrugs*

Very interesting. I wish we had another forum we could go to to talk about this matter and exchange opinions. I fear it wouldn't be appropriate here and might invite debate.
You can email me if you'd like. I find that easier than this pm system.

I'd like to hear from more Messianics about this. I know you all are out there! :)

why do Messianics accept the canon of scripture defined by these (anti-Judaic) churches?

1.) Do Messianics agree with the changes to Tanach canon at the council of Yavneh? (An aside: why would we keep Chanukah, but discard the books of Maccabees?)

2.) Why do Messianics accept the canon detremined by the catholic church? Has any messianic group ever undertaken to examine the variant texts produced at the time, the various narratives, gospels, etc. in order to examine, in a more Jewish light, what may be valid texts which have been overlooked by those with an anti-Torah agenda?
