  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It should be kept in mind that Paul was speaking to those within the church, who claim to be believers. Also, in ecclesiastical contexts, the word "accursed" often means "banned," "censured," or "anathemized," as opposed to the victim of some mystical, magical misfortune. Essentially, Paul seems to be saying that supposed believers who hate the Lord should not be tolerated within the church. Or that he wants a meteor to hit them. I'm not sure.

But yeah, God would prefer not to have to spank his children.

The verse above makes God seems like a bad guy or a big bully for those who don't understand God. Tell me why God likes to curse so much.
I don’t know about bully, or bad guy - straight forward and honest is what comes to my mind.

And there is a big difference between what a person likes to do, and what is required of someone from righteousness.

I think you are misreading the verse. It says "love the lord..." not understand. I have spent all my life attempting to understand the Lord. I still cant do it but i do love him. You don't have to understand all of God to love him.

1 John 3:2.... "Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is." HALLELUJAH !!!

He is our Authority, our God, our Savior, our Redeemer. Because of Him, we have "ETERNAL LIFE". If He wants to curse us?, which He does.....I say go for it!! He NEVER curses us without a good reason, and WE deserve it!!

The verse I quote in the 1st post stated that if we don't love God, He will curse us. I don't know.... initially, it makes me feel that God is forcing us to love Him. If not, threaten us with His curses. Now, if I have to tell my non-believer friends about Him, it is difficult to tell them how loving God is, which they thought He is. I heard some non-believers read some of the "brutal" things God done to mankind in the bible, causing them to doubt the scripture saying He is love.

your original quote " a curse be on him" is a plague not a swear thing or a satanic thing hanging over his spirit.

one who cannot contain him/herself and loves carnal life is not in God.

this is standard.

there are rules and regs everywhere and they all apply to the physical, the rules of God are about the spirit.

get that right first.

when y9ou have the basic fundamental understanding of what5 pleases Him/Her for He too isThe She or Widom, that is the perfect form of liberation.

read Proverbs ch 8 aw couple of times and just see
33" hear instruction be wise and be free"

35 " for those who findeth me , findeth eternal life, and shall obtain favour in the lord.

wisdom is at the gates as written in verse 1 and she is the gatekeeper,

for those of you who think this is bullying are wrong.

the laws of freedom or Wisdom are freeing are the liberation of the spirit,

there is no transgression in ones heart who is free from sin desire,

hear carefully " sin desire" you need to remove the desire to sin to be free and that is done throgh the mery of the Holy Spirit.

ok

Do not blame God for our sins or errors, He is just being a good parent. He does it out of His love for us, and "NO ONE" on this earth will love us the way He does, "EVER". You bring the gospel to unbelievers "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved". What happens between them, and the Lord after, IS between them, and the Lord.

I am very truthful with myself, and know myself very well, so when I do something wrong, I deserve it, (He also blesses to the maximum) and am adult enough to take my punishment, and/or discipline. God is love, and other attributes as well. Many Christians thinks that's all He is.......BUT He does everything out of Love for us.

Wouldn't you rather take your due discipline NOW?, rather then in Hell for all eternity? I would!....God love's you with maximum love, all we have to do is appreciate it. ;) His other attributes...........

3. Each Person of God possesses identical Divine attributes, making them co-equal one with the other. (Jn 10:30, 16:15).

4. When the Bible speaks of God as being One it is a reference to the essence which the Persons of the

....B.The Son executes the plan of salvation; (Jn 4:34, 5:17, Heb 10:7).
....C. The Holy Spirit reveals the plan of salvation;
...........(1) To unbelievers; (Jn 16:8-11).
...........(2) To believers; (Jn 16:13,14; 1Cor 2;10).

9. Jesus Christ is the only visible member of The Godhead;

RIGHTLY SO THERE BROTHER,

now heed to the call of the comforter who has the plan which is directed by the Holy Spirit., that is correct and so it is as written into the book of Revelation just like that.

beginning in chapter 5 the 7 seals are the in his hands at the staging and opening of the white throne judgement, and are revealling God's plan.

no one in the world except the messiah who is confirmed throught the Text and proven by the Text can be this person, unless he is that person,

that is where the last book of Jude ends and the third chapter 3 starts

the bible is divided into 3 times of significance

first testament
new testament
and third testament or the end times period

or testimony of jesus
or that of the same one comforter.

until you hear the call as you can see the times then nothing progresses, for you.

all the same thing goes on as did 2000 years ago, you must accept the same one comforter as he is the gatekeeper and will establish the highway of holiness.

what you must remember is that the cross period was and is only good for redeeming powers.

but you must also be reminded that when returned to cleanliness, you will live in perfect love that implies no transgression, not even your wife, that is why jesus and paul spokle that being celibate or remaining an enuch which is the same is mercifull by God , so as temptation by eve doesn't set in all the time in those loin cloths, and snuggliness, in front of colorfull tell a vision , i love you pictures ALL DAY, ALL NIGHT EVEN THEATRES LONG.

you would think that god promoted sex and the making love the goal of all life and if it is then were headed in the right direction cause the more toys and pills they come up with the more love is goooooooooooooooooooood

lololololololoollololoololololloloo and that's pretty funny.

and sad toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

so whenever possible punctuate that post with the sweet wine.

eh7,

I think the first thing you need to understand is the concept of the "total depravity of the human heart." God is perfect and holy and has given us a set of laws to obey and live by. Why? So He can restrict our freedom? No, but because He is our loving Father and knows what we need to live life more abundantly and not be devoured by the enemy. Yet from the beginning of time man has essentially raised his puny fist up to God in defiance of those laws. To prove this, all you need to do is look at the 10 commandments and go through them to see how many you've broken. Even if you've only broken one, in your entire life you're still guilty of breaking the entire law (James 2:10).

You first must realize that there is no such thing as a good person - apart from Christ. All to often we go through life acting as if God owes us salvation and if He doesn't give it to us, then He's unfair, mean or cruel. However, if God were fair we would all be sent to hell because we all have sinned against the Most High.

Secondly, you ask why God curses so much. The Apostle Paul has your answer in Romans 9. It basically says that since God created all things and we are His creation, He can do with us whatever He pleases for His glory.

"What shall we say then? Is there injustice on God's part? By no means! For He says to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion. So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy." Rom 9:14-16

"You will say to me then, 'Why does He still find fault? For who can resist His will?' But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, 'Why have you made me like this?' Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honored use and another for dishonorable use? What if God, desiring to show His wrath and to make known His power, has endured with much patience, vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, in order to make known the riches of His glory for vessels of mercy, which He has prepared beforehand for glory." (Romans 9:19-23)

Its really, not that God curses so much, but its amazing that He curses so little. When you stop to think that it is only by His mercy and grace that any of us are saved at all when we all deserve hell, it just makes you want to stop and worship Him and thank Him with a grateful heart that He was willing to reach down into your pit of hopelessness and grant you salvation.

Because of the weak teaching in most churches today, and the modern "church growth movement" we've chosen to get people into churches by any means possible and all we ever tell them about is God's love, mercy and grace. That's all well and good but there is another side of the coin, and that is Gods judgement and wrath. But if we tell people that God will one day judge people and cast unrepentant sinners into the fires of hell, well that won't do much for the bottom line of church rolls now will it. Just as God is 100% perfect in His love, He is also 100% perfect in His wrath. Do I completely understand all this, not really. Some things we will never truly understand this side of Heaven and those are the secret things of the Lord.

I suppose we could boo hoo and fixate on one verse when there are 100s to show God's love for us, unbully like. I guess your glass is half empty...try looking at it half full.:)

22If anyone does not love the Lord—a curse be on him. Come, O Lord[b]! (1 corinthians 16:22)

The verse above makes God seems like a bad guy or a big bully for those who don't understand God. Tell me why God likes to curse so much.

He is stating that if anyone does not love The Lord, then his life will (or may), be cursed. This is not saying that curse will come from God, but that the persons life will be cursed as a result of his lifestyle, actions and lack of God's grace.
