Big Bang? Complexity? Miracle! Favor!

I'm sorry that christians and even nonchristian people have been judgemental and hurtful to homosexuals. I am a Christian but it took me 40 years to become one. Some Christians forget the verse "Judge ye not lest ye be judged." It's unfortunate that some Christians overlook that and want to play God. God (Jesus) is the judge of eternity. Homosexuality has been around since ancient times. The bible views it as a sin. Some christians (Not all) want to take that and run with it and persecute. Who is without sin? We are all sinners according to the Bible. We Christians try to walk the walk, but we fall off the path. We are not perfect. The point is to get back on the path which we will fall off of again somewhere along the line.

I have had gay friends in college, and I did not judge nor will I. To judge is a sin. As a Christian, judging should be left up to God.

My father was a geologist who believed in the big bang theory. The universe was caused by a big bang from gases. I asked my father how the gases got there if there was nothing in the first place. He didn't know.

How can the universe go on for infinity? How? If it stops, what is beyond it? It just can't stop. We are a miracle. Life is a miracle. The fact that you and I are here living, breathing, thinking, talking, writing and we have a past is a miracle. The cosmos and the eco systems are so complex. How does life, the cosmos, the ecos continue in all this complexity? What keeps the balance for life to exist? Atoms, quarks, ions, electrons all complex. There is an answer and science cannot answer it. God would be a good answer. God is, was, and always will be.

Took me a long time to get to Christianity. But God as spoken to me and I have a testimony in the forum for "Testimony." It is called "The Sparrow." Because of my experiences explained in my testimony,I believe. I have the utmost Faith in Jesus. His Apostles (witnesses) died for Jesus. That is incredible in itself.

If one is gay, don't let that keep you from truth. One can be gay and still love the Lord. We are all sinners until we come to Jesus, who died for our sins.

I don't think Jesus would want a gay person to walk away and become a nonbeliever because they are gay. Jesus wants His children to come to Him period. We are sinners and we do the best we can and we continue to believe in the Lord because we love the Lord with all our heart and soul. Moses was a murderer. King David was a murderer. They found favor in God's eyes. Apostle Paul was a murderer. He found favor in God's eyes.

Hi, I don't know if you are referring to a current thread or not, but the poster asked questions regarding the bible's stance on homosexuality. We are not judging in giving those answers. Plenty of people ask if they are sinning on these forums over this or that and we give the answers that we believe the bible says. Take care, tapero

I edited to make things a little clearer. Several of the posts made by gay persons mentioned their persecution by Christians. It's unfortunate that this kind of persecution turns people away from Jesus. We as Christians should be bringing people to Jesus. Please note that within the post I stated that the Bible views it as a sin.

Hi, This is a hard situation, because if someone is knowingly sinning such as adultrey etc, then the church is supposed to send them out of the church. I don't know how many churches practice church discipline but that is what they are commanded to do. So it would be difficult for a practicing homosexual to feel comfortable in a church where they practice discipline.

I agree. My church does the same. The church will exile if truth be known. I'm not sure if I agree with that. When anyone sins, regardless of the sin, in my heart that should be between them and God. That's what I believe and of course not all believe that. That is why there are so many denominations. They all have their own truth. There are churches that are open to homosexuals. There are pastors who counsel homosexuals.

There are so many different types of sins. For the church to accept someone as a member who has sinned one way and to unaccept another because of a different type of sin seem inconsistent and predjudicial.

I guess I am open minded and believe that I as a Christian should be bringing people to christ and not turning them away. The Bible says clearly that Jesus will be judging us including all our sins. Why can't we leave that judging up to the almighty? This is just my views. I guess I am a little more unconditional than others. I believe in unconditional love. Jesus had that.

Anyway, as long as their are people, there will be differing views. That's a given. Some start wars over it. Sad.

Excellent post. It always confused me how some Christians did that.

Put yourself in a homosexual's shoes. If you were gay and came across someone who said they were a Christian but then that Christian scolded you and condemned you and got angry with you and refused to be in your presense. Would you feel any love? No you would feel rejected and hurt. But a loving God and a loving Jesus would not do that. Rather, He would fill your presence with such amazing love and acceptance.

If you are a Christian, then you would do the same, and accept those who are gay with open arms, and show them the love and acceptance that is of a loving God.
