Is this priest going to start refusing communion to those that admit voting for pro-choice Democrats?
Seems like he's setting a precedent here.
Cleansing -- needed often up here.
Any church should deny communion to those people who support abortion, homosexual marriage or any thing that is directly contrary to the word of God. While communion is not for the perfect, it is also not for those who are unrepentant and living in sin. Biden, Pelosi, Trump etc. should all be denied communion.Biden denied communion at South Carolina church over abortion stance, report says
“Holy Communion signifies we are one with God, each other and the Church. Our actions should reflect that. Any public figure who advocates for abortion places himself or herself outside of Church teaching.”

Although I am not Catholic, I have a lot of respect for this priest that refused communion to Biden.
For A Mighty Good Reason.
All churches should follow his lead.
M-Bob
President Donald Trump is twice divorced thrice married, tells lies in public, boasts of his lewd desires and claims to have engaged in lewd acts so ought he be denied communion?Although I am not Catholic, I have a lot of respect for this priest that refused communion to Biden.

It's a tribal thing I think.

Hmmmm....has he repented from his leachery?
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is an active Catholic that also advocates things like abortion or gay rights as a Liberal (the party name he is head of). He publicly says that as a Catholic he holds his own personal views but as the leader of Canada he is obligated to act on what [he thinks] is best for the country not what's best for his faith or personal views and sees them as separate. From my knowledge, he has never been denied communion and has even taken it while wearing rainbow socks and spoke at the mass. This is the sort of thing Americans were afraid of when JFK was running. The fear that Catholic politicians would be controlled by the Pope has pretty much vanished now, because of course there's no evidence for it. But it's disquieting to see the attempt made.
Biden does not advocate abortion. He accepts the Catholic position. However he thinks it's improper for the US to enforce it by law, since most of our citizens aren't Catholics.
Donald Trump is an abortion opponent so I don't know why you named him.

It's a tribal thing I think. Dressing in moral outrage isn't very convincing.
Trump supports sodomite marriage. That alone should bar him from communion in any protestant church worth anything.Just having certain opinions about abortion, homosexuality, etc. does not by itself prohibit communion. It is just an opinion, nothing more, until a person acts on it by having an abortion herself.
Donald Trump is an abortion opponent so I don't know why you named him. But to ban all people who are unrepentant and living in sin from taking communion would mean not having the ritual at all because even priests sin.
Agreed...especially since the priest felt the need to email the South Carolina Morning News and tell them.It seems a bit like posturing and grandstanding, but hey, I think they hoped that it would.
