We need to know who has been making all of these awful decisions since 2021. If it has all been because Mr. Biden has dementia and is incapable, his cabinet has committed a crime by not invoking the 25th. And if it is all someone's plot to abuse him and make the decisions, then they (it could be multiple people) have also committed several crimes. People are angry over what has happened these past few years and have every right to that anger... but I don't think Mr. Biden is the correct target of that anger. Something else is going on here and it is not good.

Who's really running the show has become a very legitimate question now. Especially since they've been going on so much about preserving democracy.

I deviate between interested disgust and apathy bordering toward being apolitical altogether. I side with neither.
However, if those are the only choices, I would rather the side defending our democratic republic and democracy prevail over those which lean toward facism. ymmv.

Especially in congress. We desperately need those politicians to practice democracy again. They have shown us they aren't capable of doing that with either Biden or Trump in office. We need to turn down the heat before we burn our republic up. Fresh faces in leadership are needed on both sides.

I don't know what that's supposed to mean. The person who's elected president should be acting in full capacity as president, as opposed to someone else secretly at the helm in the reality of how American government actually works.

I have heard rumors that there will be on the spot fact checking. I don't imagine that will go over very well with anyone who gets fact checked - or what that would actually entail.

All fine choices. Maybe a little late for tonight's debate, but maybe for the next one.

Where the expectations about Biden fall neatly along a single axis of competence, like your examples show, I think we need two axes for Trump. Competence and Belligerence/Demeanor.

Biden was a seasoned debate pro who was well prepared but still had occasional moments of verbal gaffes, and he was good for an octogenarian but was still sometimes vague and stumbled over his words but, on a few occasions, he was doddering, confused and incapable. No all-dazzling laser eyes or lizardman.
