Biden’s cancer diagnosis fuels fresh doubts and distrust among Democrats

Former President Joe Biden‘s aggressive prostate cancer diagnosis has thrown a wrench in Democrats’ plans to move beyond his presidency and 2024 campaign.

Biden’s cancer diagnosis arrived amid heightened scrutiny of his cognitive health. The book Original Sin, set for release on Tuesday, details episodes of forgetfulness during Biden’s presidency and alleges that his aides sought to conceal these problems.
Careful now. This topic is getting into "ridiculous conspiracy theory" territory. So I am told. Of course, the only difference between a right wing conspiracy theory and verified fact is about 4-5 years.

I am not sure why people think democrats didn't understand that Biden was mentally sharp enough to run for reelection?
As far back as 2022 polling of Democrats did not want Biden to run again.
To me, to them, he did his job and now step aside.
And yes, no different than Ronald Reagan with his Alzheimer or even Trump today with his mental lapses, their circles are going rally around them.

Uh, because they fully backed him with almost 100 million in funding, appearing publicly with and for him and saying he was sharp as ever - right up until the time they gave him the heave ho...

Strange that a conservative publication with few if any progressive readers is trying to spin this story. Unreliable.

Democrats are far too worried about the mental health and moral turpitude of the current president to waste their time with rumors of the past.

You will not find a liberal news reporting it because they would have to admit they have lied for at least three years-

Why would they be worried about the current President when they covered up for Biden. The man who touched little girls, swan nude in front of female Secret service agents is quite possibly the most corrupt president in our history. Talk about unreliable - how about the years of lies presented by CNN, MSBC, ABC and their cohorts saying Biden was fine.

I don't care about Biden. And since I won't be voting Democrat anyway, it's completely irrelevant to me.

My concern is Trump. The dude can't stay on message for 30 seconds.

No one was as concerned as you surmise. He had chosen capable, experienced and ethical staffers and accomplished more than several administrations before him.
Now the government is like a rudderless ship with captain and crew either incompetent or compromised.

Your news link is a conservative spin, that over exaggerate about Biden cancer and other things about Democrats. Democrats are worried about, how much damage, that Trump will do. Before his term ends. As his supporters defend ever bad thing. That Trump does.

Whoever was running Joe Biden had enough moral turpitude for a whole generation. Joe Biden was 'sharp as a tack' except that he wasn't. That was a lie, a very turpitudinous thing, with a man unfit for service being held up as fit for service. There was a lot of complicity throughout the deep state and the media repeating the lie that Joe Biden was 'sharp as a tack'.

Democrats concentrate on reviling Trump because they have no interest in self-examination. Go ahead and impeach Trump a few more times. It's all a carnival anyway.

I am with you there, sanderabeer. I don't give a snort about Biden. I just want to see a reasonable alternative to Trump.

You know, I could probably vote Republican if they all weren't such sycophantic creeps. Gives me the willies thinking about them.

A reasonable alternative would be a good thing. Can they find one?

I quit the Democrats when they decided they were the party of abortion and they actively worked to remove pro-life people from the party. I quit the Republicans when Trump became the nominee. Before that I could get along with most but not all Republicans and they tolerated me far better than the Democrats did. But I don’t think I’m going back.

Do you see the problem with that rationale?

Rewind a few years, and Democrats didn't seem to care about Biden's mental faculties when it was still the "present".

This approach of -
"Deny, Deny, Deny" while an issue actually happening...

And then the month after a president leaves office, they'll finally acknowledge it, but now it's "Well, that's all in the past, we're concerned about the present and the future!"

I know that's an "easy" approach for partisans because it affords them the ability to not have to publicly acknowledge they were wrong under the guise of "we have bigger things to worry about, we're not all petty and hung up on the past like those other guys"... but the reason why that rationale isn't good, is because it doesn't instill confidence that they won't pull that same junk again in the future if they get one of their guys into office again.

Truth be told, I never really noticed that there was anything wrong with Biden's cognition. On the other hand, it takes me about a sentence or so to have alarms going off about Trump's cognition. We fail to recognize that Biden's Administration ran very smoothly. He accomplished more things than presidents of previous Administrations. He managed to get the infrastructure bill passed. When he spoke he was talking about real things, and had a command of the issues. As I said before, he was surrounded by capable people, as opposed to the current president who formed a cabinet of the corrupt and the complicit. I have absolutely no concerns about anything that happened during the previous administration except for his not making our support of Israel conditional on Netanyahu's ending the genocide in Gaza.

There is no deep state. But maybe I’m missing something?

Not including oligarchs and foreign assets who in particular are the deep state?

Or if that is too taxing what position in society does the deep state come from?

Since you already said 'There is no deep state' I'm guessing you are unlikely to be accepting of anything I might say. You might want to argue but you have already signaled you will not listen. So thanks but no thanks.

You're right, of course. Presidential health records should be more public.

Only non elected deep state democratic presidents. Republicans are always in great health.
