Bibles wanted

Christians in Africa are dying to have your old KJV Bible.

Most African Christians are either too poor to buy a Bible or live in areas where Christian literature in unavailable.

If you will send me any KJV Bible you can spare, I will pay all the costs of shipping it to ministries in Africa that will give them to Believers who currently have no Bibles.

They prefer KJV.

I just sent 18 pounds of Bibles to a place that sends them overseas. Do you need Bibles other than KJV? WHat about other materials?

I wasn't able to pack all I had in the box I sent, and still have quite a few left. I'm watching for them at garage sales this year, too. I wasn't aware of organizations that did this until recently.

Sometimes I can use materials other than KJV Bibles, but they are my biggest need. My African clients only want KJV.

Okay, I'll just send what I have to another org that can use it. I think most of my KJVs went in the first box I mailed out.

Weren't you the one looking for a specific study Bible for an African pastor? I was in a used bookstore near Grove City PA a couple months back -- just days before I saw your post and think I saw one there for only a couple bucks. I'll be going up again in a few weeks. What was it specifically since I can't remember now. Or do you still need it?

Uh! Really? I'm going to visit my dad in a couple weeks and he lives really close to Grove City, so maybe I can talk him into going to that bookstore.

What's the name of it and what street is it on?

Its actually in Greenville. I'm pretty sure there was one, but it was back in April when I was there. Its a little used boostore downtown across from the Salvation Army thrift shop and two stores down from the Christian bookstore. The Bibles are downstairs.

I'll be there August 1st and can check then if your dad doesn't get there. My doctor is in Greenville. Long drive, but closest doctor in the area that specializes in food allergies like I have.

My sister used to see an allergist in Greenville. Might be the same one! She really liked him.

I grew up in Niles, Ohio. Where are you from?

I travel four hours each way to see him. I'm from between Morgantown WV and Cumberland MD.

BTW, I hit some garage sales today and picked up a couple KJV Bibles for 25 cents each.

Four hours each way! Whew! Greenville is less than an hour from Niles! He must be great. I'll ask my sister what her doctor's name was, but Dr. Kerry sounds right.

Garage sales are great places to get old KJVs. I'll be glad to reimburse you for the cost and for your postage. I have a pastor client who has 2000 requests for Bibles from people in his region and I have only sent him about 50 so far.

Nah, no reimbursement needed. Decided even before you posted to really be watching this year.

Can you use NTs too or only complete Bibles? I picked up one NT today at a garage sale, and one complete Bible.

I figure Dr. Kerry is the doc your sister saw. I don't think Greenville is large enough for two allergists.

He is known for food allergies, and I have some bizarre food allergies, and a patient of his who lives near here told me about him.

You're from Niles Ohio? I went to school years ago with the Nazarene pastor's daughter from there.

Oh yeah, Bibles. Garage sale season winds down in a little over a month, so I'll see what more I can find before shipping a box off to you. Since I found four this week, I hope I continue to have luck in finding them. (Maybe its just I'm more looking for them, too!)

Since you need so many, I'll post on another board I'm on and see if anyone has any they don't need. I think this is a great ministry.
