  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Whoops I just saw that a thread like this already exists.

I grew up with the KJV, and still like it; the Psalms in particular!

We used the NKJV in Church for a number of years, so I switched, It's good also. The Church now uses ESV, and It's very good as well (I switched again:)).

I grew up with TLH, with the Liturgies in the KJ English. We use Divine service Three quite often in the new hymnal, which retains the old English. I think it would be kinda cool to use the KJV when we use that service, but again, I'm familiar with it; many are not. Shakespear used to be taught extensivley in our High Schools; it still is here because of our Stratford Festival, but in other places, not so much.

Botom line is that it's the Theology that matters, not the language, as long as faithful translations are used, the Spirit works through God's Holy Word!
