  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey folks,

I was wondering if any of the dating/courting couples here study the Bible together weekly and, or, pray together. I think it's a great idea to either through e-mail or a weekly get-together to go through a book of the Bible or do a study together. I'm going to start this with my girlfriend soon, and am currently in the process of figuring out which book we should start with. I'm thinking 1+2 Corinthians.

Anyone else do this?

Yeah, I think it's a really good idea, I just haven't know where to start as of yet, I plan on getting a devotion book for dating/courting couples, and using that cause I've never been real good about pickiing my own devotions, I just basically have been reading straight through the Bible for my devotion/quiet time, but I really want to start doing a Bible study with my girlfriend, I think it's a great way to focus your relationship on the Lord instead of being focused all on the physical stuff that really can get in the way of the true purity of a relationship. Just my 2 cents worth. God Bless

we pray together all the time.
we USED to read Scripture together a lot more often, but we don't see each other as often as we used to (we used to go to the same school, but now he's an hour away) so we don't read the Word together as much as we should.
reading the Bible and praying together is the best thing in the world when you are in a committed relationship.
does anyone know of a good devotional for engaged/courting couples?

huh, sounds like everyone is in the same boat, don't really know anything good to read together!

me and my sig. other read bible together, talk about it, pray together. right now we're going through CS Lewis' screwtape letters. she's at another college, but we just set a time online to talk about it. its really good. throughout our relationship God has really grown us both through eachother, pretty amazing how He works.

lets hope someone does find a good devotional/study or something!
