bible study tips

hey everyone i need help. i want to do bible study on my own but i dont really know where to start or how to set up a schedule. also i hardly ever really understand it and ive tried to read the message remix bible and i feel it stretches gods message too much. i usually read niv. if anyone has any tips. any sites. or any ideas of where to start reading. please answer thank u!!

I say start in a book that grabs your interest most and work from there. Also, if you have understanding troubles try using commentaries or books that dig a bit deeper in meanings such as Bible concordance and such...those can really help.

Read the KJV or RSV from beginning to end, like you'd read a novel. Don't get sidetracked with any particular study. You can do that later. Get the broad sweep of the thing first. And if you aren't teary eyed at the end of Genesis......
