  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I’m a Bible junkie! Okay, not really, but I do have a few Bibles. If any of the readers of this post have questions about any of the Bibles or translations I own just leave a comment on my blog and I’ll be happy to respond with words or pictures. Here goes…

Bibles I own but rarely use…

  • The MacArthur Daily Bible (paperback, 978-0718006396)
  • The Old Scofield Reference Bible (blue leather, 0195274342)
  • Reflecting God Study Bible (Wesleyan/Nazarene tradition, 978-0310921318)
  • The Woman’s Study Bible – purchased for my wife (no ISBN, printed in 1995)
  • Positive Thinking Bible by Norman Vincent Peale (978-0785204190)
  • Greek to English Interlinear New Testament by George Ricker Berry (978-0529106322)
  • Holy Bible (older NIV, printed in 1984 for the Canadian Bible Society)
  • NASB Study Bible (similar to this edition 978-0310910923)
  • The Inspirational Study Bible by Max Lucado (hardcover, 978-0849951237)
  • KJV Pocket Bible (small, white with a grey cross on front, 9781418543792)
Bibles I pull off the shelf often…

  • The Reformation Study Bible (old edition, 0785258582)
  • Holy Bible Revised Standard Version (no ISBN but it is stamped on the front cover and inside front cover with, “Canadian Bible Society Auxiliary of The British and Foreign Bible Society. Printed in around 1992.)
  • The Companion Bible by E. W. Bullinger (black leather, 082542240X)
  • New Living Translation (0842340505)
  • The Holy Bible Douay-Rheims (no ISBN, printed in 1955. I suspect the Bible has an ISBN but the previous owner who gifted me this Bible added Icons to the inside from cover and title pages.)
  • The Orthodox Study Bible (hardcover, 9780718003593)
  • The Didache Bible (green hardcover, 978-1586179731)
Bibles I reference weekly…
  • Westminster Reference Bible (from Trinitarian Bible Society. black, hardcover edition 978862281493)
  • Westminster Reference Bible with Metrical Psalms (compact edition, 9781862284531)
  • Westminster Reference Bible (large print edition, 9781862284753)
  • Classic Reference Bible with Metrical Psalms (from Trinitarian Bible Society. black leather bound, 0907861717)
  • Royal Ruby Text (from Trinitarian Bible Society. 9781862283046)
  • The Reformation Study Bible (new edition, crimson 9781567695014)
  • The Reformation Study Bible KJV (9781601784377)
  • The Reese Chronological Study Bible (hardcover, 9780764206290)
Over the years I have given many, many Bibles away but this is what I currently have on my shelves. As you can see most of them are the Authorized King James Version but I’m not KJVO.

Yours in the Lord,

jm

Great collection. Haven't heard of most translations listed here but have always wanted The MacArthur study bible. Thanks for sharing. If you ever consider donating or giving away bibles-pm me please. As an evangelist, they come in handy.

When Bibles are donated to the library I work at I grab them up to give to a local mission/thrift store that offers them for free to the public.

I'll keep you mind if they close.

That'd be kind of you. I stay faraway but I could pay for their shipment.
