Bible Journaling?

Does anyone here do bible journaling? If you don't know what that is, it's basically creating art (or extensive notes, or both) in your bible. There are specific journaling bibles with wider margins for this purpose, but you don't necessarily need one. A lot of people use a separate journal.

This is something I've been doing since Christmas, and I'm really enjoying it. I don't journal everyday, just when the inspiration strikes. But I find it a great way to commune with God, and focus on his principals and promises and love.

I've seen mostly drawing, painting, and fancy lettering. Some people will write out long notes, of course. I'm not much of an artist although I can do calligraphy, so I am mostly tracing, lettering, coloring with pencils. I will highlight a verse on the page, maybe repeat the main point of it, or re-write in the margin all fancy in a different translation for emphasis. Some people use stickers like scrapbooking, watercolor or acrylic paints.

A lot of people use their journaling bible as an art canvas, and keep another bible for reading and study, but some people use their journaling bible for both. Personally, I have a study bible for my daily reading and study, one journaling bible I take to church so that I can take notes in it, and a second journaling bible for art. I love it, because it's a form of personal worship, and it helps me really key in on a point about God to remember.

Hey I loooove bible journaling and I created my own bible journaling channel on YouTube about a month ago! Come check it out. It is super fun. Many of my friends at church liked looking at it but thought they were not creative enough etc to do it themselves, but since we have been doing it together they now all love it. Hi. Mine is faith Journaling. Works for me so enriching, i use capital letter for it.

So, it's meditating and writing with flow, enveloped by "what would Jesus do"...
What will Jesus do, here, now and tomorrow, through me!

Dunno if it will work for everyone, but this really connects me with open Heaven!

I haven't heard of this before, but I would like to try it. I am artistic, and I read the Bible. I underline Bible verses that speak to me of God's great love, kindness, and mercy with a highlighter. I think the Bible is like a treasure chest, and each verse is a precious jewel. I seek the jewel of the day when reading my Bible. I have some journaling books with blank pages, I could writing the most interesting Bible verses in it and draw a little something, like a flower, or a little cherub around the words. This is a great idea.

I completely agree. I know there are some out there who says that you should never write in your Bible. I know that when I do make a note or annotation then when I return to that same passage after a period of time, it reminds me of what my thoughts were in the past. The interesting thing about it though, is that as you develop a deeper understanding of the Word then your interpretation may change over time. In that case, it is awesome to be able to see where and how I have grown in my faith life.
