CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Okay... I got a new laptop and it just arrived today (wee!). I have no idea how to use it, or "set it up" or whatever it is I'm supposed to do the first time I use it. My dad arrives in about 1 hour and 40 minutes. I *CANNOT* let him know I'm this stupid when it comes to computers (he'll want to take my baby away claiming I'll mess it up!). So... I need help.
*wishes somebody gets online before it's too late*
And my not knowing how to turn on a darn laptop is our little secret... Got it?
BTW, the laptop's so pretty! Hurray for graduation presents!

I think I connected the AC Adapter. Maybe. At least it looks like I did.
But what the heck's a network and how is it different from a modem? And there are no cables for either in the box that came with the computer.
