  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

BEWARE!!! This is kinda bad.But it is funny. If you Like FMA... (4)

So I was reading my favorite part of The Tunnel by Ernesto Sábato (best book in the world -almost- BUY IT) because I'm weird like that and yeah, I like to read parts of my favorite books at 2 o' clock in the morning, when I realized: I'm not Juan Pablo at all! I'm María! WHY!?

Not like I have anything against María Iribarne but I just think Juan Pablo is so much better. María never spoke to me. But yeah, I'm María, and that kinda sucks. But I guess that if I had been María, I'd have murdered my dear Juan Pablo in his sleep so, maybe I'm not like her. Maybe I'm just a mix.

It's just a darn book, anyway.

But yeah... Nice thing to ponder at 2 in the morning.

I wish Jane Eyre, Frankenstein, Wuthering Heights, Pride and Prejudice and The Ballad of Reading Gaol (or maybe switch the last one with The Picture of Dorian Gray) were required readings in my English class, instead of this crappy classic retelling of A Tale of Two Cities. But really, I'd just settle with more time to read the book. And I mean the real book, not the stupid retelling.

I just love The Tunnel so much... Why can't there be a real Juan Pablo Castel out there somewhere? I swear, I'd study forensic psychiatry (or whatever it was) if I could just interview him and analyze him and stuff... He is, like, the perfect character (well, one of several excellent fictional characters, anyway). I'd marry him. That would mean I'd have to eventually kill him in his sleep and probably move to a different country to hide (probably England), but I'd marry him.

My favorite books are:

1. The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling (duh), but let's put them in order, shall we?
a. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince*
b. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets*
c. then it's a tie between the rest of the books
*= Notice a connection? I do.
2. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
3. The Tunnel by Ernesto Sábato
4. Then it's a tie between Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, The Icarus Girl by Helen Oyeyemi, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and Felices Días, Tío Sergio by Magali García Ramis.

Oh! And my favorite poems are Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe, and The Ballad of Reading Gaol by Oscar Wilde; even though my favorite poet is Emily Dickinson.

And I think my favorite short story author might be Isaac Asimov, even though I loved The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gillman and The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin. I probably loved other short stories too, but have forgotten about them for the moment.
